History:
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#58) - Dr. Vivian Morgan and her colleague Dr. Wilfred
Maxwell studied the upwelling of the Ocean on each of the Azores Islands. The
last test with a radio current meter was made on the East coast of Sao Miguel,
near the city of Furnas. There, Maxwell, a boy called Daniel, and
Vivian discovered that the Azores Islands were sinking.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#59) - One night, in her bungalow, Vivian Morgan was awakened from a voice. She followed the voice carried by the ocean breeze and reached a cavern on the sea. She entered and found a ceremony performed by a cult of Darkhoder priests led by the Priest of the Sea and Moon. They were waiting for the Priestess of the Sea and the Moon. They were waiting for Vivian Morgan, and the Priest told her to seek the one who would have saved their land form sinking, the one who emanated magnetism of both the tides and the moon.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#60 (fb) - BTS) - The Priest of the Sea and the Moon gave Vivian the Sapphire Pendant. From that moment, Vivian's body merely became a host for Morgan Le Fay's soul and the personality of Morgan Le Fay began to overcome the Vivian's personality.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#60) - The day after, Vivian told Wilfred about her meeting. The two went back to the cavern but they couldn't locate it because of the high tide. Vivian let Wilfred see the Sapphire Pendant. In that moment they found the injured body of Triton the Inhuman. They didn't knew him.
They brought Triton to the Institute Oceanographica of Ponta Delgada. There Vivian noticed the magnetometer reacted to Triton's body. Wilfred proposed to contact the local constabulary but Vivian enraged, refused and scratched Wilfred's face who went away after telling her she seemed a completely different person. Vivian didn't cared about it, considering him nothing more than a "trained dog". The Morgan Le Fay personality was almost taking the place of Vivian's. In the Lab Vivian noticed Triton's body leaked magnetism and it reacted with her pendant so she recognized in him the saver of the Islands.
In that moment, Namor the Sub-Mariner was fighting Bloodwraith. Vivian/Morgan saw Namor and decided to hide Triton from him.
Out of the Institute Vivian/Morgan met Andromeda Attumasen. The Atlantean tried to convince her to flee but Vivian/Morgan wasn't afraid of the battle, she was afraid to have Triton stolen by Andromeda so struck her with a club. Morgan Le Fay's behavior had taken control of the host body, her memories had resurfaced.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#61) - Vivian/Morgan's hair became magenta. She placed several explosives around a nearby undersea volcano. When she emerged and returned to the ship, pulled Wilfred off the ship. She left the place before the charges exploded around the volcano and also killing Dr. Wilfred Maxwell.
After few hours, her transformation in a duplicate of Morgan Le Fay was complete.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#62) - Sean Dolan hurled the Sword of Kamuu in an effort to kill Morgan, Triton leapt into its path, wishing to save the innocent Vivian Morgan who coexisted with Morgan and was struck. Morgan claimed that Vivian was only a memory, then.
Comments: Created by Glenn Herdling (writer), Geof Isherwood (penciler), Tom DeFalco (editor).
I did not reported Morgan Le Fay history during Atlantis Rising because she was not Vivian Morgan... anymore.
No trace of the Sword of Kamuu. Namor lost a sword (not black) fighting Thor, but it was said it was the Ebony Sword.
Clarifications:
Vivian Morgan has no known connections to
The Sapphire Pendant has no known connections to
The Sapphire Pendant is a magic item imbued with unspecified enchantments. It could contain or transfer Morgan Le Fay's soul in a host body, also transforming it in a perfect duplicate of Morgan's body. It reacted to Triton's presence, it is unclear if it happened because he was the one to sacrifice or because of the magnetism produced by his body after the nuclear submarine accident.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#59 - BTS) - A cult of Darkholders kept the Star Sapphire until they found the Priestess of the Sea and The Moon. The Priest of the Sea and Moon bestowed Dr. Vivian Morgan with the pendant.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#60) - The pendant started to transfer Morgan Le Fay's soul in Vivian Morgan's body.
When Vivian Morgan approached to Triton's body, the pendant shined. After few hours Vivian Morgan was transformed in Morgan Le Fay.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#61) - Morgan Le Fay showed the pendant to Bloodwraith and after took control of him. The pendant shimmered more and more.
(Namor the Sub-Mariner I#62) - In the night on the Eve of March 20, Morgan Le Fay used the Sapphire as one of the ingredients of the spell to have Atlantis Rising.
(Fantastic Four: Atlantis Rising#2) - Attilan was enlarged to
its original size over the risen Atlantis City. Atlantis crumbled over the
Genetics Council, Morgan and the Sapphire Pendant.
