Powers/Abilities: She was really smart and fearless (two traits you need if you work for Tony Stark).

(Marvel Fanfare I#22 (fb) - BTS) - For weeks Cherry and her team tested the durability of Dr. Octopus' adamantium arms at Stark International labs.

(Marvel Fanfare I#22) - Another day of testing: Cherry Wood used a sonic cannon against the adamantium arms, but they weren't even scratched after a shot. She watched acid failing as well and then wanted to leave the lab, but suddenly the arms came alive and attacked them. Cherry lost consciousness when the arms tossed her to the ground. A few minutes later Iron Man found her, as she was the only one still missing from the lab staff, and brought her to the next hospital.

(Marvel Fanfare I#23) - Two days later Tony visited Cherry in hospital and wanted to make up to her. She asked for a dinner and Tony agreed to it for another evening. The following evening Cherry got her dinner with Tony, but Dr. Octopus attacked them, took Cherry hostage and threatened to kill her if Iron Man or Stark (secret identities rock) interfered with his plans again.

(Marvel Fanfare I#23 - BTS) - Dr. Octopus took Cherry to the city's most important power station.

(Marvel Fanfare I#23) - Dr. Octopus wanted to control the city by controlling its power, but Cherry tried to reason with, but her words only angered him and he slapped her (you can't tell a mad genius that he isn't brilliant anymore). Dr. Octopus tried to kill Cherry when Iron Man arrived, but the hero was able to save her. Dr. Octopus fought back with his two tentacle sets and caught Cherry again; however, she freed herself again with an elbow to his face. Cherry then tried to help Iron Man against the adamantium arms and succeeded when she took Iron Man's reserve energy pod and put it on the adamantium arms to scramble Dr. Octopus' connection to them. Dr. Octopus threw Iron Man out a window and wanted to kill Cherry Wood once and for all, but Iron Man returned and defeated Dr. Octopus with his own adamantium arms. Iron Man sent regards from Tony Stark to Cherry who wanted another dinner with Tony.
