History:
(Sub-Mariner III#2 (fb) - BTS) - Argos, a trusted Atlantean general, fought many battles at Namor’s side.
(Sub-Mariner III#2 (fb)) - When the forces of SHIELD, led by Iron Man, surrounded Atlantis, Namor summoned Argos and commanded him to keep the forces in check while Namor went on a mission to the surface world. Namor was reluctant to go to war, but gave Argos permission to annihilate SHIELD if they attacked first.
(Sub-Mariner III#3 (fb)) - Argos heard of a potential attack from the Atlantean rebels. He marshaled the forces to be prepared to combat it.
(Sub-Mariner III#4 (fb) - BTS) - Argos and his men intercepted a group of rebels lead by Vayos and they beheaded them.
(Sub-Mariner III#4 (fb)) - Argos and his men found the rebels ready to attack, lead by Zoran. Argos presented Vayos’ head and then battle commenced between the two groups of warriors. Though they were outnumbered, Argos commanded one of his soldiers, Cirin, to lead a group back to the palace and defend it.
(Sub-Mariner III#5 (fb)) - After a deadly battle, Argos returned with his forces to the palace and reunited with Cirin and the others. They marshaled themselves for their final stand. Zoran and his men soon arrived and his men surrounded Argos, who fought them off. Just when it seemed they would be overwhelmed, Namor returned, slaying Zoran with a trident through the chest. Namor ordered the battle to cease and showed the soldiers the captive Kamar, the leader of the terrorists on the surface. He commanded that the other betrayers lose a hand and then be allowed to go free, despite Argos’ concerns otherwise. Argos accompanied Namor as he imprisoned Kamar and confronted the captive Nitro. Argos was shocked to learn that Kamar was Namor’s son and that the old tunnels outside Atlantis still existed.
(Sub-Mariner III#6 (fb)) - Namor spoke to his generals about his plan to evacuate the city, send the Atlanteans to the surface to live as humans, and to keep the military with him. Argos and the others were concerned, but followed Namor’s orders. Namor promised to see Atlantis destroyed so the humans couldn’t have it, and had the city evacuated within 48 hours through the old tunnels. Argos approached Namor one more time, concerned, but still could not sway him. Argos lead the army behind Namor to snowy Latveria, where they used technology to breathe air, and met their new ally, Dr. Doom.
