History:
(J2#9/3) - Jack Beanstork was told by his mother to place the last of their money on a horse race. Jack questioned the sense of betting the money that should have been spent on food and that perhaps there were better investments such as savings accounts and Silver Age comics. However, he chose to buy a Betto lotto ticket instead for a $50 million jackpot. Not knowing how to select the money, an impatient man called Moxie told him to bet the numbers 1 through 6 to get the boy out of his way. Jack brought the lotto ticket home to his mother, but she was furious that Jack had spent the money on a lotto numbers instead of horse numbers and threw the ticket out the window before kicking her son out. The ticket drifted to the street only to be picked up by Zane Yama (J2).
Later, Moxie was in the bar and almost choked on his beer when he heard that the lotto numbers matched those he'd given to Jack and rounded up three thugs to help him steal the ticket from the boy. They tracked the despondent Jack down and threatened him with a gun but he was quickly rescued by J2 who punched the thugs away. J2 somehow knew that Jack was the rightful owner of the winning lotto ticket and handed it back to him; Jack was jubilant to have it returned. He ran off to live happily ever after with his mother in luxury and attended by female servants.

CLARIFICATIONS
:
Jack Beanstork has no known connections to:
Edwina was Jack's mother but was too fixated on gambling to be concerned with daily necessities like food. She smoked cigars and drank beer, as well as being somewhat overweight, probably due to lack of exercise sitting in front of the TV and radio checking race results. She had an aggressive streak when questioned about her gambling obsession and relied on her son, Jack, to place bets for her. She was angered when Jack bought a lotto ticket instead of placing the money on a race horse (which did win) and threw out the winning lotto ticket along with Jack. However, she and Jack quickly reconciled after Jack claimed the money and the two lived in luxury, although she continued her betting. She liked green a lot.
