Real Name: Chet Brinkley
Identity/Class: Human
Occupation: Reporter
Group Membership: None
Affiliations: David (fellow newsman)
Enemies: None
Known Relatives: None

Base of Operations: Presumably mobile wherever a story was to be found
First Appearance: Avengers I#27 (April, 1966)
Powers/Abilities: Chet Brinkley had no superhuman powers but was a skilled broadcast reporter. He had a quick response time, enabling him to spread a news story in a short amount of time via radio.
History: (Avengers I#27) - When a battle between the Avengers and Attuma (who was using a tidal-expander machine) generated numerous waves, the police were hounded with SOS calls from people who were out at sea. Chet Brinkley was one of the first reporters to respond, arriving at Camp Hatteras and getting over the radio to broadcast the storm warnings. After announcing the evacuation of coastal cities, Chet handed the news back over to his fellow newsman David.
Comments: Created by Stan Lee, Don Heck, and Frankie Ray.
David was never seen in the story, only mentioned.
Chet Huntley and David Brinkley were pretty much the names in TV
news anchors in the 50s and 60s (they had a show named the
Huntley-Brinkley Report). While I'm not a news historian, you
should be able to Google 'em up pretty quickly. This is clearly an homage to
them, right down to their traditional "Good night David / Good night
Chet" sign-off used here.
