Powers/Abilities: As Captain Universe, Casey displayed super-canine intelligence (he was think with human-level intelligence), flight, and super-canine strength (sufficient enough to fly while carrying adult humans). Throughout his tenure as Captain Universe, he did not display any other Uni-Power abilities such as molecular rearrangement or the ability to project cosmic energy, although cosmic energy constantly radiated from his two front paws.

History:  (What If? II#31) - During a trip to the Port Jervis countryside, Casey was left by Glenn Herdling's car as Glenn took Laura up for a hot air balloon ride. While in the air, Glenn proposed to Laura but before she could accept, the ring magnified the sun's rays, causing the balloon to burst into flames. A shocked Casey barked loudly as the ensuing fire until he was contacted by the Uni-Power. Instantly gaining human-level intelligence, Casey pondered at what he had become but opted to save his master instead. Casey quickly saved Glenn and Laura, landing them safely on the ground. The Uni-Power's job done, Casey thought to himself that he had better get a biscuit for his heroism just as the Uni-Power left his form. Back with his normal canine intelligence, Casey was thanked for his heroism with a nice pat on the head.
