Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Creme de Profundis could allow anyone who used it to return to life for 24 hours at a time. Those returned to life by it exist as walking corpses, able to withstand injuries that would kill normal people.
History: (X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl#1) - Also called the Eau du Profundis, the Creme de Profundis existed in the realm of Hell, hidden from most of its occupants. When the man who became the Pitiful One was told of its legend, he sought it out upon arriving in Hell. Finding an entire mound of the mystic clay, the Pitiful One used it to bring himself and other superbeings to live in an effort to force Doctor Strange into restoring them to life permenantly.
(X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl#2) - The Pitiful One and his crew used the clay to return to Earth once again, this time destroying a local mall. When the Anarchist entered Hell too quickly, he went into hallucinations which the Ancient One halted by putting some Creme de Profundis on his lips. The group later used the Creme to return to Earth and kidnap Doctor Strange's manservant Wong.
(X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl#3) - Portions of the Pitiful One's group used the clay to terrorize the United States while the others tortured Wong. When they returned to Hell, the Anarchist and Miss America were ordered to guard the Creme de Profundis. While the Anarchist opted to steal it, Miss America battled him for it until they were both exhausted.
(X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl#4) - The Pitiful One and the Ancient One used the clay to remain on Earth while attempting to remove the spell that Doctor Strange had cast on his physical body.
(X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl#5) - The Ancient One used the clay while battling Doctor Strange on Earth. After the defeat of the Pitiful One, Doctor Strange used a spell on the remaining Creme de Profundis that consigned it to nothingness.
