Powers/Abilities: Doctor Smythe was a skilled scientist, but possessed no superhuman powers.

History:  (Avengers I#256) - Doctor Smythe was sent with a research team to the Savage Land to investigate it. While there, he was befriended by Ka-Zar and Zabu, who helped them with their research until they came face-to-face with Terminus (actually Jorro in disguise).

 (Avengers I#257 (fb)) - Upon seeing the research team, Jorro blasted them, killing them all except Ka-Zar and Zabu.
