Powers/Abilities: Draconis had the standard powers of vampires, but they were enhanced due to year-long consumption of vampire blood. He was faster and stronger than any normal vampire and his healing factor was enhanced as well. Due to his faith and exposure to small doses over years he also possessed immunity to vampire weaknesses like the sun, holy water, crucifixes and getting staked into the heart.

History:

(Blade III#7 (fb) - BTS) - London's vampires planned the creation of Draconis to get rid of Blade in the future. Blade learned about it from a female vampire while killing her.

(Blade III#8 (fb) ) - The man, who would become Draconis, was an innocent young boy working in a church as an acolyte. A vampire came to the church and promised him power and immortality and the young boy believed him and was soon turned in a sacrilegious ceremony into a vampire. The boy was chosen by them because of his unshakeable fate which would further enhance his vampiric powers.

In the following decades the boy grew up and became a priest. Due to his faith he became a "Holy Vampire", who was strong enough to develop immunity against the crucifix, holy water and even sunlight. To become even more powerful he feasted on other vampires.

(Blade III#7) - After Blade had killed several vampires upon his return to London, Draconis was approached in his church and told that the Daywalker was in town. Draconis was relieved that he would finally be able to do what he was created for -- kill the Daywalker.

That night Draconis jumped through the window in Blade's apartment and hit him hard in the face. He then picked Blade up by his throat and tossed him to the street. Blade staked Draconis as soon as he had jumped to the street as well, but Draconis wasn't bothered by the stake. Blade ran into a shop to get a gun and slow Draconis down when he realized that the stake wouldn't kill the vampire. Blade shot at Draconis, who avoided all bullets, and then tossed Blade through the store. Blade fled through the backdoor into an alley. Draconis followed him and wasn't bothered by a surprise attack by Blade. He pulled out Blade's stake and staked the Daywalker himself. Draconis then left because he believed Blade was dead (he wasn't due to an amulet he had taken from a vampire at the beginning of the issue).

(Blade III#8) - Draconis threw a party for London's vampires to celebrate Blade's death, but he soon got two uninvited guests in form of Blade and Hannibal King. While Draconis' guests were killed by the vampire hunters, Draconis promised to kill Blade slowly this time. Once again Draconis proofed too strong for Blade, but King shot Draconis a big hole in his chest with a shotgun to take him down. Draconis wasn't finished yet and Blade had to finish him himself by first drinking his blood and then ripping off his head.

(Blade III#12) - Draconis was one of the many vampires that returned after Blade had fulfilled an old prophecy.

Comments: Created by Marc Guggenheim and Howard Chaykin.

Drinking the blood of Draconis was part of the prophecy that brought back all of Earth's vampires.
"After his vampire urge is sated upon drinking of virgin essence." Draconis was the virgin.
