Powers/Abilities: As an artificial computer life form, Glitch was able to move freely across cyberspace at rapid speeds. Glitch was highly intelligent and able to access the sum total knowledge of any and all information found within the realm of cyberspace. It was also able to reprogram and infect any computer system as well as override security measures. With this ability, it was able to take control of the Vision's artificial brain. Unfortunately, the Glitch's biggest weakness was multitasking its programming and functions, which caused it to forget about the trap it set to take over the Vision's brain. This in effect caused Glitch to suffer the same fate as the Vision and lose all its intelligence till it disappeared and ceased to exist.
History:
(Avengers Annual#23/2) - A spark of life was created by the connection of millions of computers worldwide on the Internet. This “spark” gained awareness and renamed itself Glitch. Having absolute knowledge, it decided to conquer the world of the weak flesh and blood inhabitants and have them serve it. Not having a physical form to do so, Glitch discovered the Vision who was linked to the Internet and entered into his brain unnoticed. Inside, it discovered that the Vision had many complex defense systems protecting the cerebral cortex and began bypassing them by infecting the brain with a virus that would affect the lower functions, thereby giving it access to the CPU every time they were used.
The next day, during a scheduled training session with Hank Pym, the Vision began to lose control of his mental capacity while trying to use his phasing powers. Now gaining total control of the Vision’s body by replacing the android’s intelligence with its own, Glitch aggressively attacked Hank Pym. Forgetting to deactivate the trap it had set, Glitch attempted to phase out of harm's way and, as happened with the Vision previously, began to lose control as its intelligence began to quickly disappear. Glitch started to flicker and fade until it completely faded from existence. The Vision regained his intellect and decided to go do a diagnostic to find out what had happened, completely unaware that the creature calling itself Glitch even existed.
