History:

(Daredevil II#82 (fb) - BTS) - A corrupt guard at Ryker’s Island prison, CO Gruber grew accustomed to handling prisoners such as Hammerhead, the Kingpin, Black Tarantula (Carlos LaMuerto), and Owl. He enjoyed teasing and provoking Matt Murdock, who was supposedly Daredevil and kept in protective custody.

(Daredevil II#82) - Gruber passed Murdock’s cell and continued to taunt him about being Daredevil, having super powers, and being stuck in jail. He tossed a paper next to the cell to provoke him, it containing an article about how another Daredevil was still running around New York. Later, Gruber retrieved Murdock for a visit with his lawyer, Foggy Nelson, who was attacked and seemingly murdered during the visit to Ryker’s Island.

(Daredevil II#84) - Sweating profusely, Gruber watched as new inmate Bullseye was brought to Ryker’s, in a straightjacket and restraints. Bullseye looked deadly as Gruber yelled rules and threats at him.

(Daredevil II#86) - Gruber grew impatient when Murdock seemed to be stalling as he was walked back to his cell. Murdock surprisingly broke Gruber’s nose with his elbow, then knocked him out with a blow. Gruber missed the large prison riot that took place afterwards.
