History:

(Daredevil II#12 (fb) - BTS) - A husband to Jenny and a father, John received the terrible news that he had multiple sclerosis. He struggled for the next 3 years to cope with things until one morning his boss fired him from the auto repair shop.

(Daredevil II#12) - Not knowing what to do, John planned to kill himself, feeling the money he left behind would support his family. With a gun, he parked in Hell's Kitchen, but before he could fire the gun, a convicted rapist, Bobby, also known as Mad Dog, landed on his car as Daredevil (Matt Murdock) and Echo battled across the rooftops. John caught a wanted poster offering 200 thousand dollars for Bobby's capture and quickly pointed his gun at Bobby.
