History:

((New) Defenders I#125 (fb) - BTS) - In the alternate future of Earth-8394, and in the 24th century, on the planet Mikkaz, the alien Kamado were near-immortal warriors and conquerors of two dozen star systems, feared and respected by untold billions. King Ch'kri was the most feared and respected of all. Ch'kri taught his son and heir to be a politician, but Ch'kra did not want to be king. He desired peace and, by the time he reached adolescence, had a small band of followers who saw him as a saint. Ch'kri hated this and had four hundred of Ch'kra's followers killed to bring his child around. Ch'kra rebelled, though, and took his seventy remaining followers on a stolen starship to flee from Ch'kra. They remained in hiding for over 500 years while Ch'kri had his military looking for them. Ch'kra's followers continually escaped Ch'kri's forces, though, crediting their gods, the Duality, for the escapes.

(Defenders I#124 (fb) - BTS) - When Ch'kra fell ill, his followers landed on Earth to try and revive him.

(Defenders I#124) - Doctor Stephen Strange quietly investigated the downed starship and saw Xeotpik, Mox, and T'voor trying to fix the ship, all very worried about Ch'kra's life. Inside the ship, Zimm and Seminekk worked on draining the life forces of captured humans Tom Pritchett, Charles Lester, and Richard Kessler into Ch'kra, worried that they were denying their very vows. Strange tried approaching the aliens, but they panicked and shot him down, assuming he was an ally of the emperor. They began draining the mystical force from Strange and then took off for space. Denzile was ordered by Xeotpik to watch the ship's sensors closely, just before they saw Hulk, Silver Surfer, and Sub-Mariner attacking to save Strange. Thinking they were allies of the emperor, they fired on the heroes, who managed to knock the ship into the water. They breached the ship, flooding it, and the Defenders soon defeated the aliens, but all the aliens aboard the ship chose to kill themselves rather than be captured.

((New) Defenders I#125) - The Defenders buried the aliens and the ship self-destructed. Back on Mikkaz, Ch'kri heard of the death of his son, having not heard from him in over ninety years. He learned that Ch'kra had been killed on Earth fifty years earlier, and finally chose a new heir. As tradition dictated, every trace of Ch'kra was wiped from existence, and all that remained left to do was to exterminate life on Earth. The Kamado hit Earth with a gas so deadly that they'd never used it before, and all living things died in a century. They spent the following two centuries obliterating and razing all structures on Earth. Then the planet soon broke apart and ceased to exist.

Comments: Created by JM DeMatteis, Don Perlin, and Kim DeMulder.

The Kamado exist in the main Marvel Universe (Earth-616) as well. One of them was seen as a member of the Mourners in Quasar#26 & #35.
