History:
(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1 (fb) - BTS) - Kimora ruled his realm unopposed for "many lifetimes."

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Carling invented a device that opened a portal between Earth and Kimroa's realm. Carling spent years in this other dimension. He met a woman, fell in love, and was married. Soon Rose was born.
All the while, Carling continued his interdimensional experimentation, but it was not long before his work came to Kimora' attention. He sought to have Carling's technology for his own and use it to extend his reign to other dimensions. Carling resisted, and Kimora, unwilling to accept no for an answer, slew Carling's wife. Carling fled with Rose through a dimensional rift to Earth, but Kimora was able to slip through the rift before it fully closed. Kimora was stunned by his first interdimensional passage, and Carling was able to escape him.

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1 (fb) - BTS) - Even while Kimora was gone from his realm, his iron-fisted rule held steady.

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1 (fb) - BTS) - Kimora pursued Carling through the years, determined to acquire the technology to open a passage between Earth and his realm.
Eventually Carling realized his only option was to seek protection, and he turned to the research firm Landau, Luckman, and Lake.

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1 (fb) - BTS) - Logan battled Kimora in Kyoto but failed to kill him, which Logan regretted.

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1) - Years ago ("after the war"), Kimora and his agents captured Dr. Carling and his daughter, Rose, with whom .Logan had been employed to meet Chang of Landau, Luckman, and Lake. Kimora had Dr. Carling tied up, torturing him to force him to give up the secrets of his interdimensional transport device, but Carling refused, even when  Kimora threatened Rose's life.  Chang informed Logan of Kimora's involvement, warning him that Kimora would be waiting for him and that Logan was rushing into something he couldn't comprehend. Logan soon confronted Kimora, who got the better of him and began choking Logan, stating his goal of learning the universe's mysteries and of conquering all he could find. Having escaped his bonds, Dr. Carling struck Kimora from behind with his sword, then instructed Logan to stand back so he could finish him off.

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1 (fb) - BTS) - Carling decapitated Kimora.
Somehow surviving, Kimora escaped through a pinhole rift back to his realm. He could use it to return to Earth at will, but the rift was too small and unstable to allow large-scale traveling.
When Kimora returned home, his world wept.

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1 (fb) - BTS) - Years later, Kimora recaptured Dr. Carling, taking him to his realm. Kimora's agent Oracle took the knowledge of how to build the dimensional transporter from Carling's mind. His agents began constructing a large rift to Earth.

(Logan: Path of the Warlord#1) - Chang recruited Logan to rescue Carling again. Having injured an opponent in a practice swordfight, Logan had recently had his sword taken away and replaced with a wooden blade.
Kimora consulted his oracle (aka mind-thief) who told him of two off-worlders who would oppose his rule, one of whom had fire in his veins and would see Kimora dead. Kimora said he could not die, for this world and many others were his destiny. He sent a pair of agents to capture Logan and Rose Carling but ordered the agents not to kill them.
Chang transported Logan to Kimora's realm, and they were attacked by a pair of Kimora's agents, Shadow Walker and his lover. Logan was aided by Rose Carling who slew the female attacker, forcing her lover to flee.
Kimora continued to torture Dr. Carling (whipping him with snakes), now wishing simply to break him. Kimora's agent then showed up, telling Kimora that Rose had killed his lover and begging to be allowed to kill them. Kimora refused initially but then told him he could kill Logan and Chang, but not Rose, whom he wanted to convince Dr. Carling to surrender. Oracle predicted that the agent would fail and that Logan would face Kimora in battle, though he couldn't foresee the victor of that conflict. Kimora was pleased, as the battle wouldn't have as much worth if the outcome were known, and he went back to whipping Dr. Carling.
Logan, Chang, and Rose made their way into Kimora's fortress via deception and force, but Shadow Walker grabbed Rose and pulled her through a shadow warp. Chang stabbed the shadow warp, keeping it open long enough for them to pass through it as well, and they arrived in Kimora's chambers. Chang was forced to use his psychic powers to prevent Oracle from interfering in the combat while Shadow Walker held a knife to Rose's throat, and Kimora and his agents departed with the bound Dr. Carling, with Kimora telling Shadow Walker to kill Logan if he moved. Enraged over the threat to Rose's life, Logan entered a berserker state and took out the Shadow Walker. Still lost in his bestial rage he went after Kimora, and Rose and Chang agreed that if Logan did not regain control and if he endangered the mission they would have to kill him. Barely maintaining slight control, Logan mowed a path through Kimora's warriors, but as he caught up with Kimora, the warlord slew Dr. Carling; Carling had refused to surrender to Kimora, and the warlord gave him the honor of a swift death. As Logan attacked Kimora savagely, the warlord mocked him, stating that he could not die. Rose tossed Logan his wooden sword, helping him regain his focus and control. He cast Kimora into the rift and then used his wooden sword to destroy the rift-creating device, leaving Kimora trapped between worlds.

Comments: Created by Howard Mackie, John Paul Leon, and Shawn Martinbrough.

Chang's description seems to indicate that Kimora escaped death from the decapitation by traveling back to his realm, but then dialogue between Kimora and his oracle seems to indicate that Kimora returned to his realm only recently. Perhaps he was trapped in interdimensional space for a time, or perhaps time passes differently between his realm and Earth.

The dimension's name was revealed as Kageumbra in Kimora's profile in Wolverine: Weapon X Files.
