Powers/Abilities: M'kai was a normal young Lizard of the Saurian People.
History:
(X-Treme X-Men: Savage Land#1 (fb) - BTS) - M'kai was a young lizard-man when his people were slaughtered by Dire Wraiths. He and the few survivors had to leave their home in the caves under the mountains in New Mexico and had to wander in search for a new place to settle. Their new leader, C'rel, having heard about the Savage Land where dinosaurs lived alongside humans, led the last lizards of the People through the Americas to the southern part of Argentina.
(X-Treme X-Men: Savage Land#1) - After some problems with the local human militia, the lizards were helped by the X-Men to cross Drake Passage. M'kai, Mickey, Jimi and other children were hosted inside the Blackbird, while the other older lizards had to stay outside above the airplane.
(X-Treme X-Men: Savage Land#2) - Unfortunately, a cataclysm caused by Brainchild split the group up. M'kai and the other young lizards, along with Bishop and Sage, managed to reach the snowy, frozen part of the Savage Land, but the Blackbird was damaged. The extreme cold was killing them all.
(X-Treme X-Men: Savage Land#3) - In that dangerous situation, the young lizards looked after M'kai. He trusted Sage but not all his friends did the same. M'kai tried to scout the area around the Blackbird but he didn't find help. Fortunately, after several attempts, Sage managed to re-activate the Blackbird's systems.
(X-Treme X-Men: Savage Land#4) - The Blackbird and the young lizards managed to reach the village of the United Tribes where they were welcomed, but soon after, they had to fight against Brainchild and his Mutates. The X-Men eventually defeated Brainchild, and the People, reunited, could settle in the Savage Land.
(Uncanny X-Men#457 (fb) - BTS) - The Hauk'ka, a tribe of highly evolved Savage Land Saurians, attacked and conquered several territories. They didn't distinguish between humans or lizards; for them, everybody was an enemy. Villages were burnt and people were killed. M'kai, Jimi and Viri were captured and taken captive to the Hauk'ka capital town.
(Uncanny X-Men#457) - Kept in an underground prison for weeks, they met Bishop and Nightcrawler, who had also been captured by the war-like lizards. Several days later, the Hauk'ka led them outside the town to execute them all, but Bishop and Nightcrawler defeated the soldiers and let M'kai and the others escape. Shortly after, they met their allies in the war against the Hauk'ka: a lizard warrior sent by C'rel, Ka-Zar, Brainchild and the Savage Land Mutates!
(Uncanny X-Men#458) - The X-Men's allies fought a cruel battle and managed to hold back the Hauk'ka forces, but they soon after had to draw back to the mountains. M'kai and his friends had to stay hidden in some caverns while the Hauk'ka started their conquest of the world using their powerful climate-controlling weapon: the Hauk'ka-controlled Storm.
(Uncanny X-Men#459) - M'kai, S'gur, Jimi and Viri had to stay back in the caverns while the X-Men and the Mutates attacked the Hauk'ka capital town. The X-Men managed to free Storm and Rachel, and also defeat the traitor Brainchild. The peace between humans and Saurians was back.

I use the word "lizards" or "giant-lizards" or "great lizards" or "the People" to describe the evolved lizards from New Mexico. The word "Saurians" covers the evolved dinosaurs from the Savage Land.

Sage managed to fix the Blackbird's electric system and Jimi helped her. The lizard children were then carried safely to the United Tribes' village.
Months later, Jimi, Viri, S'gur and M'kai were involved in the war caused by the Hauk'ka. They were captured and imprisoned in the Capital City of the Hauk'ka. Nightcrawler and Bishop also were captured and put in the same cell as the peaceful lizards. Jimi immediately and happily recognized Bishop. Bishop and Nightcrawler later freed Jimi and his friends, then they had to find refuge in the mountains and hid in the caverns until the X-Men defeated the Hauk'ka and Brainchild.

Jimi, Viri, S'gur and M'kai were involved in the war caused by the Hauk'ka. They were captured and imprisoned in the Capital City of the Hauk'ka. Nightcrawler and Bishop also were captured and imprisoned in the same cell of the pacifist lizards. Bishop and Nightcrawler later freed Jimi and his friends, then they had to find refuge in the mountains and hid in the caverns until the X-Men defeated the Hauk'ka and Brainchild.

Viri was very afraid when M'kai came back from his walk exploring around the X-Men's Blackbird. Fortunately, Sage fixed the Blackbird's electric system so the lizard children were carried safely to the United Tribes' village.
Months later, Jimi, Viri, S'gur and M'kai were involved in the war caused by the Hauk'ka. They were captured and imprisoned in the Capital City of the Hauk'ka. Nightcrawler and Bishop were also captured and held in the same cell as the pacifist lizards. Viri immediately recognized Bishop and welcomed him. Bishop and Nightcrawler later freed Viri and her friends, then they had to find refuge in the mountains and hid in the caverns until the X-Men defeated the Hauk'ka and Brainchild.
