History:
(Classic X-Men#22/2 (fb) - BTS) - Living in a vast dimension of wonders and threats, M'rin, Warlord of the Skies, lived aboard "the World", a large ship strapped to the back of a friendly beast, C'jime. At some point, M'rin's daughter grew to lead the sky pirates and became a constant enemy of M'rin. Months later, M'rin dove into a lake for a swim and passed through a dimensional portal into the Savage Land, where a large beast attacked her.
(Classic X-Men#22/2) - While diving in the Savage Land, Storm fought the same beast, seeing the wounded M'rin on his back. Suddenly in the sky, Storm zapped the creature with lightning before being knocked out. She awoke near M'rin, calling her mother due to a dream she'd just had. M'rin introduced herself to Storm and they noted how alike they were. Storm went flying, surprising M'rin, and was shocked to meet C'jime, who pledged himself to Storm as he had to M'rin. Storm accompanied them over the following days as they fought down several enemies, including large sky-bats (some of which were shot down with the ship's large lasers) and aiding M'rin in saving the wounded. M'rin passed sentence on those captured, and she and Storm celebrated together. M'rin questioned C'jime on whether it was right to keep Storm near her as Storm reminded her of her child. Though she was tempted to lie to keep Storm near her, M'rin told her the way to get back home, giving Storm a cameo crystal to remember her by and inviting her to return at any time.
(Uncanny X-Men Annual I#12 (fb) - BTS) - M'rin had more adventures with Storm over the years.
(Uncanny X-Men Annual I#12 (fb) - BTS) - Sensing vast destruction in the Savage Land, M'rin opened the portal between worlds and allowed many of the native people, including Nereel and young Peter of the Fall People, to dwell in her land. While months passed on the Earth, years passed in M'rin's dimension.
(Uncanny X-Men Annual I#12) - The X-Men (Colossus, Dazzler (Alison Blaire), Havok, Longshot, Psylocke, Rogue, Storm, Wolverine) traveled to the Savage Land, and Longshot and Wolverine both accidentally passed through to M'rin's dimension. Storm noticed her Cameo Crystal glowing and used it to open the portal between dimensions, with Colossus and Dazzler at her side. She immediately greeted C'jime and patted his nose. M'rin and the others then greeted the X-Men, M'rin embracing Storm. When Terminus came near to attack, M'rin ordered C'jime into battle, and they staggered Terminus with offensive weaponry. C'jime barely evaded a blast from Terminus' staff. M'rin was shocked to see the X-Men and the High Evolutionary head into battle, exposing Terminus' operator as Garokk the Petrified Man. After the High Evolutionary and Garokk saw the Savage Land restored, M'rin bid Storm farewell and returned to her dimension.
Comments: Created by Chris Claremont and John Bolton.
In Uncanny X-Men Annual I#12, Storm hinted that she'd made other visits to M'rin over the years, but no more details were offered.
The M'Rin article omits information revealed in Uncanny X-Men Annual I#12 (1988), that M'Rin and Storm shared at least adventures (Storm says "others," so, at least two, then) between the events of Classic X-Men#22/2 and the events of Ucanny X-Men Annual I#12. In the most recent one prior to Ucanny X-Men Annual I#12, Storm presumably was in her mohawk look as M'Rin noted that Storm has changed her hair "again."
