Powers/Abilities: After passing through the Terrigen mists, Nahrees became a conduit for electrical energy, with energy coruscating over her form and out of her eyes on an almost constant basis, though in greater amounts when her mood is heightened. Nahrees can discharge this energy in minor static blasts or more deadly blasts. She can also use this energy to fly, riding, seemingly, in a static cloud. The extent of her abilities is unknown.
History: (Inhumans III#2 (fb) - BTS) - Nahrees was part of a group of seven Inhuman students, including Dewoz, Dinu, Kalikya, Neifi, Telv, and Tonaja, set to graduate to the Terrigen mists exposure that all Inhumans participated in, a process that would unlock their genetic potential. They studied Inhuman history and learned of Inhuman culture. One of their classmates, Telv, got held back a year, leaving only six to graduate together. Nahrees fancied Dinu, and worked to get his attention, causing Tonaja to become jealous.
(Inhumans III#2 (fb)) - On a class visit to Regent's Arch in Attilan, Nahrees and Dinu got paired up together. Later, Neifi, Nahrees, and Dinu played a prank on the teleporting dog Lockjaw while Dewoz, Kalikya, and Tonaja, on a dare, snuck in to see the imprisoned Maximus the Mad.
(Inhumans III#2) - The class was later presented to the mists, under the eyes of King Black Bolt and Carthus. The mists had differing effects of each of the youth. Tonaja became green and scaly with large brown wings, the first natural flyer the Inhumans had seen in over sixty years. Neifi became a gray-green monster with thick skin. Nahrees developed into an electrical energy form, a rarity among the Inhumans. Dinu's face became transformed, reportedly causing death to anyone who looked at him thus requiring him to wear a mask. Dewoz was reported dead in the mists, his loss mourned. Kalikya's only transformation was her fingers becoming long and lanky, which shamed her. Tonaja and Nahrees were offered potential placements on the Inhumans Royal Guard. The surviving graduates took compensation gifts to Dewoz's family for their loss.
(Inhumans III#3) - Dinu, Nahrees, and Tonaja were all recruited to the Inhuman Royal Guard. Gorgon introduced them to their quarters and worked on intimidating them, making fun of their powers and demanding that they clean the floor to his satisfaction. Dinu was perplexed by the erratic behavior of Lockjaw. Tonaja and Nahrees approached Carthus, asking how Dewoz was fairing.
(Inhumans III#7) - Nahrees watched as Timberius approached the Genetic Council, requesting war with the humans.
(Inhumans III#8) - Nahrees joined Tonaja, Dinu, Neifi, and Rexel Toiven on the frontlines of the war with the mercenaries. Nahrees warned Dinu not to leave the shields, and watched as he took a hit and was mortally wounded.
(Inhumans III#10) - The guard continued to press the attack, and Dinu was healed by Kalikya, who turned out to have healing powers.
(Inhumans III#12) - The Inhumans were all ordered back into the city while the island sunk into the ocean around them, the act triggered by Black Bolt's plans to have the city removed and have the humans think them dead. Dewoz (now in his true form) joined Kalikya, Nahrees, Tonaja, and Neifi in looking over the recovering Dinu.
(Inhumans V#3 (fb) - BTS) - Jolen and Nahrees pursued a romantic relationship, but Nahrees ended their involvement callously, leaving Jolen with unresolved feelings. Attilan settled on the moon.
(Inhumans V#2) - Nahrees was selected, alongside Tonaja, Jolen, San, and Alaris to become a foreign exchange student for a year on Earth. Medusa informed them of this mission with Black Bolt standing by. The next day, the selected students, with Medusa and Carthus, listened to human ambassador Mitchell Abrams, tell about Earth, though they mostly talked through his speech.
(Inhumans V#3) - The Inhuman students traveled to Earth and had their photos taken, then took time to adjust to the new atmosphere. They then traveled to Madison, Wisconsin, and were shown to their new home on fraternity row.
(Inhumans V#4) - On her first day of class, Nahrees fought with Alaris over the bathroom. Jolen asked Nahrees to talk with him on the morning of the first day of classes. He asked if they could be more civil with each other, and struck up conversation about his unwillingness to attend classes. She stated that she intended to participate, though reluctantly, then left to answer the door. Her appointed student mentor, an overly talkative student named Tasha, invited Nahrees on tour of the campus, and Nahrees reluctantly agreed. She showed her how to get food at the food court, though Nahrees couldn't understand how a basic necessity like food could have a charge. Nahrees tried her first hamburger, her first consumption of animal flesh, and found she liked it. Tasha droned on about understanding cultural differences until Nahrees invited her to shut up. Later, a boy flirted with Nahrees and, with Tasha's encouragement, Nahrees told the boy that although he was on an inferior genetic stock, he was free to pursue her. He declined and, furious, she walked out in front of a bus, and used her electric powers to stop it, destroying the bus but not harming anyone. Rather than take responsibility, she flew away. Later, she noticed Jolen watching her, and ended up confiding in him her frustration with humans, who seemed only good enough to reproduce and consume to her. Jolen tried to convince her that they were there to be a first strike on Earth, but she zapped him and walked away. Dean Jeremy Markley informed the Inhumans of Nahrees' act and that Alaris had tapped out their credit limit.
(Inhumans V#5) - Medusa contacted the students, angry and disappointed in their actions, and she scolded Nahrees for her behavior. She informed them that Dean Markley was finding them all jobs to help work off their debt. Tonaja angrily reproached Nahrees for her selfishness. Nahrees was assigned to work at the food court, and she put Tasha in her place the first chance she got. Nahrees unexpectedly bonded with struggling student Deena, who offered Nahrees advice on how to survive, and the two shared various stories about their lives. They laughed when Nahrees used her powers to reheat someone's food. Nahrees attended a party with Deena and met her boyfriend Kevin. One young man, Kevin, showed interest in Nahrees and she liked the attention, but grew frustrated when Kevin started talking to his friend about sports and mutual friends, Sandy and Eightball. Another boy, Trent, flirted with her, but then asked about Tonaja and if she was available. Nahrees returned home, feeling melancholy, and was shocked when Tonaja entered her room and attacked her, claiming that Nahrees had broken her mirror, a gift from Tonaja's boyfriend, Dewoz. Alaris soon broke them apart. He too accused Nahrees and she shocked him and walked away. Jolen approached Nahrees outside and comforted her.
(Inhumans V#6) - Nahrees returned to work and used her powers to open the broken cash register. Deena asked her why she left the party and Nahrees told Deena to leave her alone or she would 'bake her internal organs.' Nahrees spent time walking among the humans, frustrated and alone. Tonaja received word that Nahrees had threatened a human, and she warned Nahrees to not let it happen again. Jolen tried to comfort Nahrees later, but she rejected him and flew away. She passed a nightclub called the Rave and entered. She danced, finally enjoying herself.
(Inhumans V#8) - The Inhumans' students attended a meeting of international students, where cultural diversity was discussed, but they didn't quite fit in. Nahrees struck out on her own as quick as she could.
(Inhumans V#9) - Nahrees sunbathed with new friend, Ellen, aboard a yacht, and she shorted out one man's television when he annoyed her. Nahrees and Ellen talked over the faults of the male gender, and Nahrees stated that the only thing she looked for in a male was genetic compatibility, pointing out that Tonaja was weak enough to believe in love. When Damon Hart fell in to her catching a football and spilling Nahrees' drink on her, he tried flirting with her, but she tossed him overboard to get revenge. Later, at a party, Ellen tried finding a date for Nahrees, but she wasn't interested. Damon approached Nahrees, flirting with her, and they battled wits for a time, then he offered her a very expensive necklace as a peace offering. Nahrees rejected him and walked away with Ellen. Damon approached her again at another party, but this time he was drunk. She stormed away from him, but he teased her that he knew she liked him because she kept the necklace. She pulled him furiously into a room and they kissed, soon to be caught by Ellen.
(Inhumans V#10) - Nahrees and Damon kissed in an alley outside the Rave club, and Damon wondered why Nahrees was keeping their romance a secret. Nahrees later approached Ellen in the restroom and threatened her life if she told anyone about her and Damon. At another party later, Damon was bragging about his car until Nahrees told him to shut up, but they were soon kissing in the park until Damon was hit by a bullet fired by Mister Chase. Furious, Nahrees attacked Chase, who hit her with a dart and knocked her out and laded her in his car. As a captive in Chicago, Nahrees was experimented on by scientists Myers and Dowlati, and she learned that Terrence Haller, Jr. was behind her capture. He introduced her to his son, Terrence Haller III.
(Inhumans V#11) - Nahrees threatened to kill Chase, who taunted her about Damon's death. Haller ordered Chase to leave Nahrees alone. Nahrees listened to Dowlati and Myers report to Haller that they may have to kill her to access her genetics. Nahrees was shocked when her fellow students arrived to save her, and when Chase shot Jolen in the head.
(Inhumans V#12) - Chase shot Alaris, who was resistant to the bullet. Alaris picked Chase up, and Chase shot him in the throat, then the head, knocking Alaris out. Tonaja leaped on him, disarming him, while the scientist Dowlati stopped Myers from hurting Nahrees. San, with Haller and his son, entered and San stated that he agreed to give his life so that Haller's son could live. Then Jolen, revived, shocked them all by murdering Chase with roots through the abdomen. Tonaja then freed Nahrees, who was tempted to kill Haller, but Tonaja stopped her. The F.B.I., including Agent Scott Forbes, then arrived and arrested Haller. The Inhumans were free to leave. Dowlati tried apologizing to Nahrees, but she kicked him aside. When they left, Nahrees saw Ellen, who told her that Damon had survived the shooting. Nahrees went to see Damon and tried to break up with him, but he kissed her before she flew away.
(Silent War#1 (fb) - BTS) - In response to American possession of the Terrigen Crystals, Gorgon led Kurani, Nahrees, and Jolen in an assault on New York City. They posed as immigrants from Eastern Europe and checked into a hotel, where they planned their assault of the following week. Jolen chose a televised charity broadcast of the Tempest for their strike, and secretly grew vines beneath the theater during the day in preparation.
(Silent War#1) - Kurani disguised the four of them as they infiltrated the production, then Jolen restrained the entire crowd with a grouping of vines. While Nahrees electrically controlled the cameras, Gorgon threatened that war would be waged until the Crystals were returned. A few in the crowd began heckling them, so Gorgon ordered Jolen to silence them. Jolen did so by killing several of them, even popping the head off of one with the vines, an act that infuriated Gorgon who swore that Jolen would be held accountable for the deaths. Kurani reestablished their disguises and the four of them planned to depart peacefully, but they were stopped by the Fantastic Four (Human Torch (Johnny Storm), Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic, Thing). Gorgon tried to dissuade them from fighting, but a fight was imminent. Jolen restrained the Thing with vines. Gorgon knocked the heroes down, then the Human Torch started Jolen's plants on fire until Nahrees knocked Human Torch out of the air with an electric blast. Invisible Woman held Nahrees in a forcefield while Mister Fantastic restrained Gorgon, who encouraged Kurani to run. Kurani cast an illusion of a large monster in front of Thing, who wasn't phased and Kurani chose to surrender. Human Torch then knocked out Jolen. All four Inhumans were turned over to the Office of National Emergency (O*N*E) for containment.
(Silent War#5) - The four captives were freed by Dewoz and Mala the Diviner, and Gorgon (who'd been mutated by further exposure to the Terrigen Mists) ordered them to help him liberate the Crystals, despite Jolen's protests. They took the Crystals from Doctor Cartwright, who had been exposed to the Crystals and was dying, though they were suspicious of his motives. The captives and Crystals retrieved, the Inhumans returned to the moon, leaving Black Bolt behind to defeat the Avengers.
