History:
(Daredevil II#58 (fb) - BTS) - Sano Orii, of the Philadelphia crime cartel and the Yakuza, was a powerful samurai. He was arrested several times, but never convicted.
(Daredevil II#47) - Sano made a play for the organized crime rule in the Hell's Kitchen area. He and his men slaughtered several of the Owl's men and nearly killed Samuel before Typhoid Mary attacked them. Sano watched as his men were slaughtered as Mary insanely sang, and he screamed as she slashed him several times. The Kingpin then revealed himself. He sent Sano back to the Yakuza to deliver a message, barely allowing him to live.
(Daredevil II#56 (fb)) - Making a play for Hell's Kitchen, Sano led over 100 Yakuza warriors to attack Matt Murdock. Many of the warriors were hopped up on MGH, Mutant Growth Hormone, a drug that gave them temporary powers.
(Daredevil II#57 (fb)) - Murdock fought the warriors for three minutes, taking down most of them though he suffered severe injuries, in a rain storm. The FBI, led by Agent Harold Driver, arrived and arrested the Yakuza men, but Murdock was nowhere to be found.
(Daredevil II#58) - Agents Driver and Del Toro questioned Sano, but he claimed to have been peaceably leaving a dinner when a man attacked him. The agents grew frustrated and promised to charge Orii with a concealed weapon charge at least. Before leaving, Driver insulted Orii, claiming that he was a disgrace to his father and his name.
(Daredevil II#59) - Sano and the other Yakuza were let free. Sano watched as Driver was killed by Yakuza men, though Del Toro managed to escape. He later yelled at his men, including Ori, trying to inspire them to follow him to glory despite the threat of super heroes. Just then, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist (Danny Rand), and Spider-Man burst through the wall. Sano opened fire on the heroes, furious as he watched his men get taken down. He ran for it with Daredevil chasing him, and was knocked down by a tossed billy club. Sano took some MGH to defend himself. With glowing green eyes and enhanced strength, he leapt at Daredevil but was easily defeated in front of the police. Daredevil forced Sano to confess his crimes to the police before getting arrested.
(Daredevil II#60) - Daredevil gave the Yakuza a chance to surrender, but they attacked anyway, many of them high on MGH.
(White Tiger#3 (fb) - BTS) - Sano bowed before Kenzo Orii, his father and the head of the Orii Yakuza.
(White Tiger#1 (fb) - BTS) - Sano was appointed by the Yakuza to deliver stolen green cards and passports to the dangerous crime cartel, the Chaeyi. Sano hired local gangster Eddie to aid in the deal.
(White Tiger#3 (fb) - BTS) - Sano called in an old Yakuza gambling debt and had Jessup Tyne from the state department create the documents he needed for the deal.
(White Tiger#1) - The transfer was interrupted by fledgling hero the White Tiger (Angela Del Toro), who made off with a portion of the documents before bounding off with Daredevil (Danny Rand). Karlson and Cobra confronted Sano, blaming him for the failure. Karlson assigned Cobra to find the woman assailant and test her out, and ordered Sano to bring in another shipment without failure. Later, White Tiger attacked a Chaeyi garage and Sano watched as Cobra battled her. He finally called out to Cobra to jump in the car so they could complete their assignment. White Tiger jumped on the car, breaking a window with a crowbar, but Sano threw her off while driving, firing and grazing her shoulder with a bullet.
(White Tiger#2) - Hearing that Eddie had been defeated by White Tiger again, Sano invited Eddie to spar while Cobra and Eddie's friends watched. He struck Eddie several times and agreed to give him another chance, but he beheaded one of Eddie's friends with a blow as payment for the failure. Sano, with Cobra behind, later went to the Genosha Club and flirted with Amy. The dance was interrupted by Angela Del Toro, former partner of Driver. The two of them briefly sparred before Del Toro left. White Tiger and Daredevil attacked Sano and the Yakuza outside another club, demanding information, and the NYPD surrounded them.
(White Tiger#3 (fb)) - Sano watched from his car, with Cobra, as several of the Yakuza were arrested. He had some costumed cops cover up the battle scene, and grew furious when NYPD cops, including Adam, started investigating. In revenge, he had Adam transferred to another unit through his connections.
(White Tiger#3) - Sano soon contacted Pyne to get more documents. Pyne was angry, but agreed to do so, and offered to take Kenzo to dinner.
(White Tiger#4) - Sano met his father at the airport, and Kenzo promised to discuss Sano's shames in private. Days later, Sano and Cobra went to collect the documents from Tyne when White Tiger attacked again. Sano killed Tyne then fired on White Tiger, but Cobra demanded that Sano leave with the documents, promising to attack him if they were lost.
(White Tiger#5) - Three days later, Sano confirmed with Eddie over the phone that the big pick up would be that night. Sano and Cobra delivered guns to Eddie that evening as part of their bargain. When Sano heard that Kenzo had approached Del Toro privately, he was furious. He approached Del Toro as she walked in the harbor and drew a gun on her, demanding to know what his father had said. She flipped him over her shoulder and he fired on her, though she deflected the bullet with her laptop then dove in the water to escape.
(White Tiger#6) - Kenzo was furious with Sano for his actions and promised to drag him back to Tokyo after the completion of their mission. That night, Kenzo, Sano, and Cobra met with Eddie and his gang to get the completed Chaeyi documents. White Tiger, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Luke Cage, Iron Fist (Danny Rand), and Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) then attacked and Kenzo furiously attacked White Tiger with his sword. When he fired on her, Kenzo got in the way and was killed. Sano, shamed, committed Hari Kiri with his sword.
(Iron Fist V#78 (fb) - BTS) - Sano ended up in Mephisto's Hell and became one of the fighters the demon D'Kay pitted against Orson Randall.
(Iron Fist V#78) - Orson Randall defeated Sano in a cage at Hotel Inferno in his tenth of twentyfour fights for his soul.
