History:
(Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.#5 (fb) - BTS) - The Highest Anti-Terrorism Effort (H.A.T.E.), a subsidiary of the Beyond Corporation (secretly a terrorist cell), devised various Bizarre Weapons of Mass Destruction and sought to test them. These weapons included Combat Pterodactyl Suits and Quantum-Tunnel Drill Bits.
(Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.#5) - In his continuing efforts to wipe out Nextwave, Dirk Anger, Director of H.A.T.E., unleashed the Assault Pterosuit Flock, comprising men wearing the yellow flying suits and armed with guns that fired dangerous Quantum-Tunnel Drill Bits, and they flew from the Aeromarine toward the airborne Monica Rambeau. The Pteromen fired their guns at her, telling her of the projectiles' power. She managed to evade many of the Drill Bits and fired some energy blasts at the flyers in an effort to end the conflict in a non-lethal manner. However, one Drill Bit pierced her shoulder.
(Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.#6) - Wounded by the Drill Bit and angered by the attack, Rambeau unleashed an ultraviolet nova burst that incinerated all the Pteromen and their remains fell burning to the ground. Their destruction made Dirk Anger even more furious.
Comments: Created by Warren Ellis (writer), Stuart Immonen (pencils) and Wade Von Grawbadger (inks).
These suits are reminiscent of the H.A.W.K. flying suits used by Nick Fury & co.
Given the animal-themed squads that Hydra has already deployed, perhaps it's time that they assembled the Pterodactyl Division featuring new Pteromen!
The prefix Ptero- means wing or feather

The Pteromen have no known connections to:
The Pteromen's guns fired Quantum-Tunnel Drill Bits. Although not overly strong, these would track their target and alter their trajectory to hit it. They apparently existed in multiple states at once, and were able to penetrate Monica Rambeau even in her intangible photonic state. Despite Rambeau's efforts to evade the projectiles, one was able to painfully pierce her shoulder but did not leave any lasting damage.
