Powers/Abilities: She was an expert in martial arts. She was trained in hand-to-hand combat and the use of swords and knives. At her young age her only problem was that she didn't have enough experience. She used two Ninja Ronin Drop Knives and a Ninja Ronin Double Blade.
History: (Elektra II#6) - Seventeen years old assassin Angelica Roeg planned to cash-in the bounty for killing Matt Murdock, but the night she jumped through the open window in his law office she only met Elektra. She recognized her and bowed in respect before going into fighting stance with a knife in each hand. Elektra turned her back on Angelica and the ninja-assassin tossed angrily one of the knives at her, but Elektra caught it with ease and then broke it. Elektra then pointed to the roof where the real fight between Elektra and Roeg could take place. They stood across each other until Roeg attacked with her double blade, but Elektra blocked the attack with her Sais. Another shot was blocked and Roeg lost the sword after a hard kick to the chest, but Elektra tossed it back to her. Roeg didn't want it back and tossed it to the ground. She attacked Elektra with punches and kicks, but Elektra just blocked or avoided all her attacks until she got the chance to kick Roeg right in the face. Roeg landed on her feet, but when she turned around Elektra already delivered another kick. Roeg was down and Elektra landed on her and held down Roeg's arms with her knees. Elektra showed Roeg her scars to show her what could happen to her if Roeg continued this life. Roeg still tried to escape, but Elektra was too strong and then used a nerve pinch behind her ear to knock her out. Elektra left Roeg unconscious on the roof. Comments: Created by Brian Michael Bendis (writer) and Chuck Austen (artist). This issue was part of the "Nuff Said" month. Daredevil II#28 preceded Elektra II#6. The script for the first 8 pages of the issue was printed at the end of the issue. The rest could be read on Marvel.com (use the Inernet Wayback Machine to find it on Marvel's page around January 2002). In the script Bendis described Angelica Roeg to look Gywneth Paltrow-like. BTW, Bendis didn't like the name and wanted to come up with something better. She should be easily mistakable with Elektra in her early years with the exception of her long blonde hair and her weapons. Bendis described her weapons so accurately that I'll just quote him: For those who want to know why Silke was listed under affiliations I can only offer to read his profile on the Appendix or even better read Daredevil II#26-32. Profile by Markus Raymond. CLARIFICATIONS: images: (without ads) Other Appearances: Last updated: 01/29/06 Any Additions/Corrections? please let me know. Non-Marvel Copyright info
