History:
(Bizarre Adventures#34 (fb)) - Santa and Maria Claus had a son.

(Bizarre Adventures#34 (fb)) - Six months later, Maria died, and Santa decided he was unfit to raise the baby by himself, so he sent one of his elves, Agonistes, to find the boy a good home. Agonistes found what he THOUGHT to be a good home, the Norrisses, and he left them the baby boy under the tree.

(Bizarre Adventures#34 (fb) - BTS) - Nick's adoptive father regularly beat him, and his mom was always off fooling around somewhere.

(Bizarre Adventures#34 (fb) - BTS) - Unable to take his family life, Nick ran away at the age of fourteen and a half...which made it hard for Agonistes to keep tabs on him.

(Bizarre Adventures#34) - When Nick was eighteen and a half years old, he was standing on a corner without a dime to his name, trying to figure out how to get a meal, when Agonistes came up to him, announced himself to be a talent scout, and offered him a flight to Tokyo and $1000 to play a part in an upcoming movie; Nick agreed to consider it if the man also bought him three hot dogs and a coke. En route Tokyo, Nick fell asleep, and Agonistes pulled a gun, hijacked the plane towards the North Pole, and then forced Nick to jump out of the the plane with him in parachutes. Upon landing, Agonistes led him another four miles to a wrecked base where they found the frozen corpse of Santa Claus. Devastated that he had returned too late to help his master, Agonistes told Nick the truth about his origins, as well as about Santa Claus' immortal enemy, the Anti-Claus. When Nick complained about the cold, Agonistes directed him to a Santa Claus suit; compelled to wear the whole outfit, Nick soon felt a rush of energy.
The Anti-Claus then appeared on a monitor screen, announcing his plans to slay Santa's successor, and then burst through the roof. Nick attempted to reason with the Anti-Claus who mocked him and attacked with his whip. His powers enhanced by the suit, Nick successfully dodged the attack and fled through Santa Claus' base. Spotting a box of tools, Nick grabbed a screwdriver, leapt up on the counter, and stabbed a screwdriver into the Ant-Claus' chest. Lacking a heart, the Anti-Claus was unharmed and hurled Nick away. Nick threw some more things as the Anti-Claus and then ran back through the workshop where he found a precariously balanced sleigh, which he then pushed on top of the approaching Anti-Claus, severing his left arm. Unfazed, the Anti-Claus hurled the sleigh back at Nick and then attacked again with his whip. Narrowly escaping, Nick fled again until he came across a big burlap sack, which Nick soon discovered to be Santa's magic bag, with virtually unlimited space on the inside. Leaping from atop a cabinet, Nick pulled the bag over the Anti-Claus, trapping him inside, and then held top shut.
Agonistes then arrived, congratulating Nick on his success and then showing him that two of the reindeer, Donner and Blitzen, had survived the Anti-Claus' attacks. When Agonistes offered Nick to take over Santa's job, Nick agreed, but told him that he would do things his own way...starting with making a new base in the Bahamas.

Agonistes

A long-time loyal elf to Santa Claus, it was Agonistes who was sent to find a home for Santa's son, and it was he who chose the Norrises. When Santa Claus needed reinforcements against the Anti-Claus, since the elves were poor fighters, Agonistes was sent to get Nick. Initially posing as a movie director, Agonistes bought Nick a meal and convinced him to join him in a flight. When Nick complained about the cold, Agonistes directed him to a Santa Claus suit. The Anti-Claus arrived soon after, and Agonistes made himself scarce. After Nick had trapped the Anti-Claus inside Santa's bag, Agonistes returned, congratulating Nick on his success and then showing him that two of the reindeer, Donner and Blitzen, had survived the Anti-Claus' attacks. When Agonistes offered Nick to take over Santa's job, Nick agreed, but told him that he would do things his own way...starting with making a new base in the Bahamas.
