Base of Operations: Mobile across the USA, especially Philadelphia and New York (Ultraverse)
First Appearance: Sludge#10 (October, 1994)
Powers/Abilities: Vinaigrette exuded a very oily but non-lethal lubricant that smelled of salad dressing from her skin. She could project this material from her hands of sufficient amount to create a slick that caused cars to lose control and which enabled her to wriggle into places to steal from. She could also throw these as slime balls. She had pointed ears and often rode her bird-like steed, Organism 0.9B.
History:
(Sludge#11 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Gross experimented on Vinaigrette while she was still in the womb but dumped her in New York when she was a child. She grew up alone and nameless with Organism 0.9B as her only friend before being taken in by Dr. Lalama who dubbed her Vinaigrette. Through theft, she became Lalama's Clinic's sole source of income.
(Sludge#10) - Atop the running Organism 0.9B and fleeing four police cars after stealing more valuables, Vinaigrette shot her natural oil at the police cars, causing them to slide, collide and explode. She fled down an alley only to run into Sludge who grabbed 0.9B by the throat. She fired a slime ball at Sludge to make him let her friend go and escaped. Sludge later sought out Dr. Lalama's Clinic but after he smashed through the front door, he was rammed by 0.9B directed by Vinaigrette. Sludge tried to grab her but she easily slid away, firing a slime ball followed with a slippery blast. The Bash Brothers appeared next to tackle Sludge.
(Sludge#11) - Vinaigrette watched Sludge's brief fight with the Bash Brothers but their differences were soon resolved. On the way to Lower Manhattan to find Lalama, she told Sludge of her history but then left to thieve some more after arriving at Lalama's lab.
(Firearm#14) - Alec Swan (Firearm) had come to New York in pursuit of Rafferty, the psychopathic killer of ultras, who had targeted Vinaigrette as his next kill. Swan eventually found her and warned her of Rafferty's intentions, but she assured him that she and 0.9B would be fine and that they had survived much worse. Resting in Dr. Lalama's NY penthouse, she considered leaving New York for Cape Cod after having stolen more loot. But Rafferty had planted bombs at the penthouse that Swan unwittingly detonated elsewhere, blowing up Vinaigrette and Organism 0.9B.
Comments: Created by Steve Gerber (writer), Rob Phipps (penciler) & Gary Martin (inker).
Dr. Lalama theorized that Dr. Gross wanted Vinaigrette's natural lubricant to harden, potentially using the mutating effects of the extradimensional zuke plants (possibly giving natural body armor?)
Rafferty identified only one ultra kill (Vinaigrette), so Organism 0.9B was not considered an "ultra".
The slight change in appearance of Organism 0.9B between the Sludge and Firearm appearances may indicate a type of evolution in the character's physical alteration after coming into contact with Sludge in Sludge#10, or just artistic license.

Clarifications:
Vinaigrette has no known connections to:
The origins of Organism 0.9B are unknown as is its gender. It could run 65 mph carrying Vinaigrette and was always faithfully at her side. Similar to a dog in instinct, it was fast despite its size, but not overly agile but used its head to ram things with. It was killed in the explosion with Vinaigrette.
Its actual name was Organism zero-point-nine-beta. It is possible that this large bird-like beast was created with other such efforts having similar designations.
