Powers/Abilities: As a wizard, Vincentius had magic powers, the extent of which remained unseen. He could control a giant spider to capture travelers. His powers derived from the ancient gods whom he had "fed" with human sacrifices.
History:
(Conan the Barbarian I#48/2 (fb) - BTS) - Vincentius was a worshiper of gods more ancient than Erlik. The gods granted him sorcerous powers and he pleased his gods by feeding them with human sacrifices, murdering a man and a woman. Vincentius settled in the Dark Forest in a strong, hidden and rich castle hidden in the woods. He placed a giant spider in the forest, letting it weave its huge web and capture travelers who passed through the only clear path. Those unfortunate to be captured were brought to the castle by Vincentius' Kushite henchmen and then sacrificed to his gods.
(Conan the Barbarian I#48/2) - One day, Vincentius received Red Sonja in his castle. He drugged her wine and when she awoke from her sleep, Red Sonja understood that Vincentius was one of the mad wizards of the Dark Forest. Vincentius had also captured Hunwolf and was ready to sacrifice both of them to the gods who had unspeakable names. But Red Sonja managed to catch him in her legs' grip, even though she had been tied to the altar. Vincentius let his knife go and the red Hyrkanian set herself free. The wizard knew that if he didn't sacrifice them, his gods would grasp his soul, so he grappled with Sonja but she stabbed him with his own knife. His henchmen were killed by Hunwolf and Red Sonja.

The giant spider lived in the Dark Forest. It was an instrument of Vincentius and served to capture human victims for the mad wizard's sacrifices. The spider's body was bigger than a dog and could weave a web spanning the highest branches of the large trees down to the ground. Its web could immediately stick to a creature, such as a man and a horse, nearly immobilizing them. After this giant spider had captured its most recent prey, Vincentius' henchmen freed the human and let the horse to the spider so that it could feed.
