ANDROMIDIAN race

Classification: Semi-humanoid extraterrestrial race 

Location/Base of Operations: Planet Andromida, in the "Seventh galaxy"

Known Members: Raaka (aka Mummex)

Affiliations: Intergalactic Bureau of Missing Persons

Enemies: None identified (Raaka, as Mummex was briefly and mistakenly perceived as an enemy by humanity)

First Appearance: Tales to Astonish I#8 (March, 1960)

Powers/Abilities: Andromidians are immensely tall and superhumanly strong as a result. Whether they have any sort of anti-gravity powers to support their immense bulk, like other giant races are known to have, is unrevealed. They possess interstellar starships, able to travel intergalactic distances in a relatively short (but unspecified) time period. For space travel, they wear bandages of an unidentified nature, which enable them to safely undergo the stress and strain of space travel.

Traits: The Andromidians are a peaceful race, some of which are part of the Intergalactic Bureau of Missing Persons, who search other worlds for space travelers who have become lost on other worlds. They search primarily for others like themselves who require bandages to travel through space.

Type:  Bilaterally symmetric semi-humanoid bipeds
Eyes: Two (on head; dark/black corneas with light red (or yellow?) central regions, or comparable structures)
Fingers: Four (including opposing thumb)
Toes: Unrevealed
Skin color: Pale yellow
Average height: 200' tall? (immensely large, but little in the way of direct scale against anything of known size; it looked like he towered over a pyramid he flipped over, though we don't which pyramid)

History: (Tales to Astonish I#8 (fb) - BTS) - Raaka, a member of the Galactic Missing Persons Bureau, was sent to Earth to search for missing spacemen like himself. To travel through space, he used a spacecraft and had to wear the standard protective suit, which resembled an Earth mummy's wrappings. Landing in Egypt, Raaka and his ship ended up buried under the sand under unspecified circumstances perhaps 4000 years ago.

(Tales to Astonish I#8) - Unearthed by an archeological expedition, Raaka renewed his search for lost spacemen who would be wearing bandages like himself. His search caused a panic, and many Egyptians believed him to be Mummex, a legendary demon mummy (and/or king of the mummies). After searching various museums, tombs, and other buildings (witnessed by archeologist Paul Fleming), Raaka returned to his ship and departed, satisfied that no missing aliens were on Earth.
    Raaka later arrived at a base on Andromida to a hero's welcome, where he removed his bandages, noting he would welcome the day when space travelers no longer had to wear such bandages. He reported his findings that there were no other spacemen stranded on Earth, as the only creatures wearing bandages like their spacemen were mummies, of no interest to them.
    Another Andromidian noted how busy the Intergalactic Bureau of Missing Persons had been since most planets had attained space travel; he wished all pilots would learn to read their maps correctly.
