History:

(Daredevil I#29 (fb) – BTS) – A mob leader in New York City, the Boss had several men loyal to him, one of them planted in the gang of the Masked Marauder.

(Daredevil I#29) – The Boss received word from his plant that the Marauder had been killed and that his gang was to get the true identity of Daredevil from lawyers Matt Murdock and Franklin “Foggy” Nelson. The Boss rode with Louie and others to intercept the Marauder's men. They shot out their tires and roughed them up, informing them they now worked for the boss. The Boss had Marauder's men kidnap secretary Karen Page and leave Nelson tied up for Daredevil to find. They left a note with an address for the hero and waited for him to arrive. Daredevil stumbled in, acting blind, and the Boss took off his mask, realizing it was only blind lawyer heroically posing as Daredevil to save Karen (not realizing Murdock truly was Daredevil). They tied Murdock up and left him in another room. Daredevil himself soon attacked, evading gunfire and used his superior fighting abilities to defeat both gangs. Though the Boss still held Karen hostage, he chose to surrender to the police rather than face Daredevil in battle.
