History:
(Marvel Swimsuit Special#1) - Given the success of the previous year's Super Olympics & swimsuit charity event, Marvel Swimsuit Special shoot director Janet Van Dyne (the Wasp) began brainstorming over where to have the 2nd Annual swimsuit event. She was shortly thereafter contacted by the Black Panther, who invited the Wasp to his week-long engagement party to celebrate his engagement to Monica Lynne. Seeking a photographer for the event, the Black Panther agreed to host Marvel Swimsuit Special's swimsuit event, amused by the idea of his engagement party's photos being published in a New York fashion magazine & reminded of the illicit photos taken of him & Monica Lynne in the Weekly World Inquirer.
As the party began, Black Panther & Monica Lynne thanked his friends & allies for coming and many of the superheroes mingled with one another. During the course of the week-long engagement party, many heroes participated in the Marvel Swimsuit Special photo shoot, enjoying the chance for some rest and relaxation. When Black Panther and Daredevil discovered Doctor Doom and the Kingpin attempting to relax and escape justice via political amnesty, they took it upon themselves to send a swarm of chimpanzees to annoy the villains since they could not legally bring them in. As the week drew to a close, the heroes decided to throw a seaside bikini and clambake bash to closeout the party.

Like the 1991 special, Marvel Illustrated: The Swimsuit Special, this issue was written as if it were a magazine existing on Earth-616, published by the fictional Marvel Comics. Therefore, the comic creators working on this issue should be considered as existing within Earth-616 and the From the Editor page in the magazine mentions real-life comic pro Bobbie Chase meeting with the fictional Janet Van Dyne. As the art changes on a page-by-page basis, the credits in the magazine are: Scott Benson, Bobbie Chase, Matthew Morra, Mindy Newell, John Rozum, Dan Slott, Manny Galan, Bob Washington, Chris Cooper, Dawn Geiger, Gregory Wright, John Cebollero, Tom Smith, Joe Phillips, Adam Hughes, Brian Stelfreeze, Kenny Lopez, Jack Abel, Robbie Carosella, Jesus Gonzalez, Marc Silvestri, Paul Ryan, Bud LaRosa, Ron Frenz, Joe Sinnott, James Fry, Mark McKenna, Mark Pacella, Brad Vancata, Andy Kubert, Kevin Kobasic, James Palmiotti, Art Thibert, Dale Keown, Joe Rubinstein, Duane Turner, Jan Duursema, Mark Farmer, June Brigman, Tom Palmer, Steve Geiger, P. At one point during the magazine, Gambit is miscolored as Havok, who is standing right next to him.
Mary Jane Watson was technically married to Peter Parker at the time of this book's publishing but I listed her as "Watson," rather than "Parker" because their marriage has since been erased from existence by Mephisto.
