History:
(Shogun Warriors#19) – Captain Cymell was piloting the spaceship Nightwind when she received a distress call from what she thought was the Primal One. When the Primal One’s droids explained their mission, she agreed to lend her ship to their purpose as per the rules of the Charter of Planets.
Later, with a member of her crew, she looked wistfully out into space, saying she had gotten into the Charter of Planets to be an explorer and not a bureaucrat. She also voiced doubts about the Primal One’s mission to stop Earth’s technological advancement. However, she was helpless as the rules of the Charter dictated that any member must help another member no matter what they asked. She ordered her crew to go to Earth. She protested when the robot Gigatron was used (as it was a major power source for the Nightwind) and spoke of her concerns to one of her crew.
(Shogun Warriors#20) – Appearing over Earth, the Nightwind was used to recover the broken body of the robot Gigatron. The Shogun Warriors and the Fantastic Four followed suit in Combatra. Cymell then decided to resign from the Charter of Planets.
When Combatra attacked the Nightwind, Captain Cymell stood by as the Primal One ordered a full assault launched against the invading Earthlings. She quietly ordered the rest of her crew to aid the Earthlings. When the Invisible Woman exposed the Primal One as Maur-Konn, Captain Cymell placed him under arrest. She apologized for his actions and promised to take him to the Charter of Planets personally when she handed in her resignation.
Comments: Created by Doug Moench (writer), Herb Trimpe (pencils) and Dan Green (inks).
Her first appearance clearly makes it look like “Cymell”, but her next appearance is “Cyrell”, either due a mistake or my copy is just faded on that one spot.
We see several other members of her crew and all of them are of the same species as her.
Thanks to Coeloptera for identifying Number One's race, and to Snood for confirming that the OHotMU Deluxe Edition lists Shogun Warriors#19 as the first appearance of the Lem.
