History:
(Firearm#0 (fb) - BTS) - Duet and Alec Swan had an enduring and violent rivalry, but Duet went quiet, almost forgotten by Swan. Meanwhile, Duet had become a mercenary. Duet was hired by Mr. Blake against three men who were blackmailing him for a sordid past - Cant, the actor Darren Summers and the occultist Alfred De Valerie; however, Duet had already been hired by Summers. A confrontation with Duet caused Blake to have a seizure and he was later murdered. Duet almost killed Cant's girlfriend, but she was saved by Swan and passed him information that gave him new leads.
(Firearm#0) - Duet watched amused on the set of the fourth snuff film of De Valerie's, accompanied by Summers with Blake's son, Clay Blake, as the sacrifice in the midst of various other occultists. Duet watched as De Valerie invoked the demon Hakeldama, which began to coalesce until the ceremony was stopped by Swan swinging in and firing his gun. However, demonic energy remained and manifested in Duet, who transformed into a giant, mutated form. Hearing police sirens, Duet promised to kill Swan later and tried to slide under a partially opened roller door, but had to transform back to human form to do so. Swan fired his gun again and killed Duet before he could properly escape.
Comments: Created by James Robinson (writer) and Mike Wieringo (character design).
Duet drew on the demonic energy quickly and easily adapted o his new monstrous form, suggesting he may have had prior experience with acquired powers.
The first part of the story was a 35-minute straight-to-video 1993 movie in which Duet was played by Joe Hulser.
Profile by Grendel Prime.

Duet has no known connections to:
Clay Blake was the son of Mr. Blake, who was being blackmailed by several people. He found his father's dead body and tried to hire Swan. Clay was kidnapped, drugged and tied up as the near naked sacrifice to summon a demon. He was rescued by Swan.
--Firearm#0
An occultist, Alfred De Valerie helped sponsor snuff films to get sacrifices so that a demon could be raised. De Valerie invoked the demon Hakeldama and was about to murder Clay Blake, but was stopped by Swan, who shot off his hand and took the knife to free Clay.
--Firearm#0
Hakeldama was the demon invoked in the ceremony written into a snuff film so that De Valerie could merge with the demon and gain power. The demon had not fully formed and some of its power manifested in Duet. This energy apparently dissipated with the host's death. Hakeldama was two-headed, one being a serpent.
--Firearm#0
A Hollywood movie star, Darren Summers secretly facilitated snuff films by blackmailing or kidnapping victims.
