History:
(Solution#14 (fb)) - As a child, the boy who would become Incoming saw his family literally blown apart by US bombing. Later given a choice to live or die, he joined the Khmer Rouge, killing in their name while no more than 14 years old. When Vietnam invaded Cambodia, he left the Khmer Rouge and made his way as a refugee to Hong Kong, joining the Dragon Fang crime cartel.
(Solution#1) - In a warehouse, Xheng Hark of the Dragon Fang hired Incoming, Bloodshed and Black Tiger to stop the Solution from preventing a large shipment of drugs being distributed. The Solution attacked and the three mercenaries split up to tackle a separate member of the crime-fighting team; Incoming charged at Outrage, firing several guns at the alien, but these had no effect and he was defeated. The Solution decided to let them live, destroying only the cargo.
(Solution#14) - Having mastered new weapons and techniques, Incoming trained himself for his next confrontation with the Solution, shooting up mannequins dressed as the group's members, his memory of defeat fueling his rage. Later Kwan Yun, head of the Dragon Fang, advised Incoming that he would received the enhancements he'd been wanting and told the three mercenaries that they would be reunited as a team called Dragonfire, this time under the leadership of the mercenary Casino.
(Solution#15) - Although Bloodshed and Black Tiger baulked at the idea of a female leader, Incoming remained neutral. Casino told them her plans to deal with the Solution.
(Solution#15 - BTS) - Incoming received enhancements that heightened his speed, reflexes, sight and coordination.
(Solution#15) - One week after first meeting Casino, Incoming saw their opponents arrive at the Dragon Fang's Taiwanese compound. Dragonfire assembled and took out various members of the Solution; Incoming used an infrared lens to shoot the invisible Shadowmage through the chest.
(Solution#16) - Incoming went down to ensure the kill, but Shadowmage was able to use a healing spell and hid amongst crates. She used another spell to distract Incoming, who grew furious and wildly shot at her.
(Solution#17) - Incoming kept hunting Shadowmage, who was able to get the jump on the mercenary and knock him out with another spell.
Comments: Created by James Hudnall (writer), Darick Robertson (penciler) and John Lowe (inker).
Cambodia was savagely bombed by the USA in its efforts to destroy North Vietnamese supply lines. The bombings, initially undertaken in secret and authorized by then President Nixon, occurred from March 1969 to August 1973, killing about 100,000 Cambodians indiscriminately, despite the US not being officially at war with Cambodia, and focused on the eastern half of the nation. The destruction of the infrastructure of Cambodian cities by US bombers, the scale of which should never be forgotten, immediately preceded the despotic and murderous reign of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. These bombings were also the trigger for the Earth-616 Cambodian character called Angkor, defeated by Wonder Man. Given the actual years involved, the date of this slaughter in the comics could be considered topical.
