Base of Operations: Unspecified town in the USA
First Appearance: Journey into Mystery II#2/3 (December, 1972)
Powers/Abilities: Linda's nourishment was not blood, but the life force of human beings. She did not use fangs, instead she used her mind and willpower. She could drain the lifeforce of a person by simple contact within a few seconds. She could also acquire the life force in little doses, so that the victims seemed normal until a strong physical effort triggered their total collapse. When a victim was totally drained, his eyes became blank, without pupils, and he stood still, unable to move.
History:
(Journey into Mystery II#2/3 (fb) - BTS) - Linda chose her
victims among the strongest and more athletic students she knew, because they had the
greatest lifeforce. Linda was in love with Paul Williams, who was one of the
best athletes at Westfield Heights. For love she spared him and directed her
hunger on other athletes.
Linda drained the lifeforce of Tommy Davis, then
Jimmy Ryan,
who became little more than human vegetable.
More than one year later Linda consumed Bill and Steve's lifeforce. They were in the same basketball team as Paul was.
(Journey into Mystery II#2/3) - Paul Williams suspected something strange and Linda tried to sway his thoughts. Paul went with Linda to the hospital where Dr. Jenning could not cure the boys. Jenning called the disease "supernatural" unable to understand it. Linda tried again to distract Paul, but his suspicions grew stronger. During a trip to the countryside Paul began to speak about vampires. It was sunset when Linda confessed to him that he was the last champion of the school, then drained his life-force as well.

Paul was a basket player at Westfield Heights, one of the best athletes at the school.
Paul was Linda's boyfriend. He was very upset and worried about the disease that hit his friends and the other athletes.
His team was the
best, but without two of the best players, Bill and Steve, it lost the championship
in the last two matches.
He couldn't stop himself from thinking about the unnatural occurences, and
Linda's proposals did not succeed in distracting him.
When Dr. Jenning mentioned something supernatural involved
with the disease, Paul suspected that some sort of vampire was the cause. He was right,
Linda touched him and drained his life-force, too.

Tommy Davis was one of Westfield Heights's best baseball players.
Tommy was the first victim at the school. Linda didn't devour his lifeforce completely, so Paul went into the catatonic state during a match.

Jimmy Ryan was one of the best runners of Westfield Heights' track team.
Jimmy Ryan was the second victim of Linda.
He was at his top form until, during a competition, the damage
caused by Linda arose. He stopped moving in the middle of the run, becoming still like
a robot.

Jenning tried to cure Davis and Ryan, with no avail, then, he also studied Bill and Steve. He could not find a natural cause to their status. He lied to the friends and the coach of the basketball team because there was no scientific cause. With Paul he mentioned some supernatural causes.
