History:
(Daredevil Annual I#4 (fb) – BTS) – Robert Trevanian Mallory grew up poor and made his first million by age 23, called the “Golden Man” by some. He eventually became a multi-millionaire and started his company Mallory Intertech, inventing new and revolutionary machines. The most important thing in his life was his son, Keith, who he raised at his home in Holmsford, Connecticut. When he developed the Mallory Mark I, a tidal power station, he learned from his colleague Reed Richards that Wakanda’s Vibranium would help the machine run more efficiently. He contacted the Black Panther for a meeting. Meanwhile, environmentalists worried that the Mark I would cause major negative shifts in the tides and currents.
(Daredevil Annual I#4) – Robert bid Keith farewell as Thomas, ex-Secret Service, drove him to school in their armored limousine. Despite his guns, Thomas’ car was shot full of gas by Bernie and Jojo, allies of Ruffio Costa, and crashed. The criminals took the kid, then called Robert, interrupting his meeting with Black Panther. They told him about the kidnapping, demanded the plans to his tidal station, then hung up, infuriating him. Robert prepared himself to pay the ransom as Panther went out to investigate on his own. Meanwhile, the Sub-Mariner went looking for Mallory, damaging a cop car on the way; Daredevil helped the cop and turned him over to a doctor named Sullivan. Daredevil attacked Sub-Mariner, nearly causing Harry to crash his sanitation truck, though Namor did save a cop when his partner Ernie knocked him off a bridge. Black Panther and Daredevil soon teamed up to save Keith, fighting the Mind-Master, a transformed Costa. Panther ended up refusing to give the Vibranium to Mallory, but the fate of the Mark I machine is unknown.
