History:
(Tomb of Terror#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Payat's son had become a werewolf and over seven years had left a small trail of bodies. Payat loved his son and watched out for him, hoping to find a cure for his lycanthropy.
(Tomb of Terror#1/3) - Jack Russell arrived to investigate two more deaths with the markings of a wolf attack. It was moonlight and the massive werewolf attacked Russell. Payat broke up the fight, shooting at the now transformed Russell, while his son also fled. The next morning, Payat happened across the now human form of Russell and challenged him. Recognizing a "skinwalker" (animal spirit in human form), Payat invited him to his home to wash and be fed. Payat told Russell he could see him as such a creature and secretly drugged Russell's coffee, believing Russell's story that lycanthropy could be cured if a werewolf killed another werewolf. Payat took the unconscious Russell into the woods and caged him. Payat watched as Russell transformed into the Werewolf to escape the cage when Payat's werewolf son attacked. Again a savage fight erupted and again Payat fired on Russell to weaken him so that his son could win the fight and be cured. Instead, his bestial son leapt and mauled Payat's neck before bounding away. Payat died before the helpless and once more human Jack Russell.

I'm hoping that Russell found a way to eliminate the threat posed by Payat's son.
As revealed in the story, the name Payat translates literally as "he is coming".
