History: (Nightwatch#1 (fb) ) – Hydra agent Barret Gage was rebuilt into the cyborg Salvo in an AIM facility by Damon Morelle.
(Nightwatch#1 (fb) ) - Salvo recruited a number of
mercenaries into Warforce; they were hired to free the villainous
Gauntlet from prison under the auspices of recruiting his
cellmate, the imprisoned assassin Deep.
(Nightwatch#1) – Salvo and Warforce they hijacked a news helicopter and
took it to Ryker’s Island, where
they demanded the
release of imprisoned assassin Deep, in the hopes that he would join
them.
Before a number of hostage reporters, Salvo made their demands, but he
was
interrupted when the vigilante Nightwatch
attacked.
As the prison guards tossed in smoke bombs, Salvo gave the order to
execute the
hostages. Nightwatch disarmed Tranq
and Cutter, but Salvo blasted him, damaging his costume. Spider-Man
soon joined
the fray, and shielded the hostages with a web-barrier. While Nightwatch and the web-slinger took on Warforce,
Salvo and Shell slipped away to the helicopter and escaped. As the two
heroes
took down the remaining mercenaries, the guards opened fire on the
copter,
killing Shell while Salvo escaped. Nightwatch
soon
chased down the copter, prompting Salvo to abandon it and let it crash.
Nightwatch steered it into the Hudson River
instead;
surviving, he attacked Salvo, who badly damaged Nightwatch’s
living costume. Nightwatch toppled a water
tower on
Salvo; before the cyborg could reroute his weapons circuits, Nightwatch enveloped him in his cloak, ensuring
that if he
fired his weapons, he’d only kill himself. As Nightwatch
removed Salvo’s weapons systems, he demanded that Salvo explain
where they’d
come from; Salvo only managed to explain part of his past before
passing out
from the pain. Nightwatch took some pieces
of his
armor, which integrated themselves into his
own Morelle-built suit.

Soul
patches. Always evil.
The main image is from Nightwatch#7, an issue in which Salvo
does not actually appear - Nightwatch and his uncle Drake steal some
Morelle files, and among them is the above Salvo schematic. Art
