History: (Spider-Man/Punisher/Sabretooth: Designer Genes (fb) ) - The Scorchers, a Canadian arson squad equipped with armored suits and flamethrowers, were hired by realtor F. Hopkins to eliminate the homeless people squatting in the lot next to an Alphabet City townhose he was trying to sell.

(Spider-Man/Punisher/Sabretooth: Designer Genes) - When the Scorchers attacked the vagrants, they found that a disguised Punisher was amongst their targets.  Dropping his disguise, the Punisher quickly shot and killed four of the Scorchers, while the homeless people tackled the other two.  During the melee, the Scorchers accidentally set Hopkins' townhouse on fire.  The two surviving Scorchers agreed to tell the police everything.

(Spider-Man/Punisher/Sabretooth: Designer Genes) - A homeless girl, Pixie befriended the Punisher after he saved her from the Scorchers.  She told him about several of her friends who had recently been killed by a mysterious beast (actually the mutated Mitchell Chambers).  Castle followed Chambers' trail into the sewers; Pixie declined to follow him, but soon afterwards encountered Sabretooth, who was also tracking Chambers.  Startled, she threw a knife into his shoulder; in response, he clawed her in the chest, but let her live.
