Powers/Abilities: Dr. Cindy Shelton is a gifted researcher and the brains behind Roxxon's Project Z.

History: (GLX-Mas Special#1 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Cindy Shelton grew up separated from her brother Neil. (see comments)

(GLA#2 (fb) - BTS) - Fellow Roxxon employee Doug Taggert was assigned to Cindy's research team. Unbeknownst to Cindy, Doug was secretly the Grasshopper, a superhero designed to be Roxxon's answer to Iron Man. For unrevealed reasons Cindy harbored ill-will toward Grasshopper.

(GLX-Mas Special#1) - Cindy was present when Killer Shrike attempted to rob Roxxon's New York lab on Christmas Eve. Impressed and pleased that Grasshopper was able to prevent the theft of Project Z, Cindy noticed something appealingly different in Grasshopper (not realizing that this Grasshopper wasn't the original but actually her long-lost brother, Neil). Asking Grasshopper if he had plans for the evening, Cindy was cut-off by an uncomfortable Neil who initiated a maximum jump and flew off. In his wake, Cindy wondered why she ever gave Grasshopper a hard time.

The second Grasshopper's last name was confirmed as Shelton in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Vol. 6, in the Killer Shrike entry. The details of Cindy and Neal's estrangement is unrevealed, however.

Any connection between Cindy and the very short-lived third Grasshopper is unrevealed. I'm going to throw the "adopted son travelling back in time from an alternate future" hat in the ring though.
