baby hulk
Real Name: Harold
Identity/Class: Presumably alternate reality (see comments) human mutate
Occupation: None
Group Membership: None
Affiliations: None
Enemies: Anyone who kissed him, gave him a shot, or did anything else he didn't like...or stopped him from doing anything he wanted
Known Relatives: None
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: Unrevealed
First Appearance: Crazy#71 (February, 1981)
Powers/Abilities: Like lots of babies (or toddlers), when confronted with anything he didn't like, baby Harold had a tantrum. Unlike other babies, however, Harold transformed into a superhumanly powerful baby Hulk form and vented his frustration on whatever had caused it. Baby Hulk was strong enough to smash through solid walls and to punch out and/or twist an adult man like a pretzel. Baby Hulk presumably also had some degree of superhuman durability.
Since he could sit up, I'd guess baby Harold was about 8 months old?
Height: (Harold) perhaps 26"; (Baby Hulk) perhaps 32"
Weight: (Harold) perhaps 16 lbs.; (Baby Hulk) perhaps 85 lbs.
Eyes: (Harold) unrevealed; (Baby Hulk) unrevealed, presumably green
Hair: (Harold) unrevealed; (Baby Hulk) unrevealed; dark, presumably green
History:
(Crazy#71) - For all of his average baby life, baby Harold absorbed the constant
energy released from a television inches from his crib.
(Crazy#71 - BTS) - One day, the energies apparently mutated baby Harold, allowing him to rip open his crib and escape.
(Crazy#72 - BTS) - As baby Harold's stroller sat in front of a running television outside a TV and stereo shop, a young toddler passing by asked her grandfather(?) to lift her up so she could see. What she saw made her cry, and her grandfather carried her away.
(Crazy#75) - Harold had a doctor's appointment, but when the doctor drew up his shot (and/or injected Harold with it), Harold transformed into baby Hulk.
(Crazy#75 - BTS) - Baby Hulk tied the nurse and doctor up in knots, stuck the shot in the doctor's head, and smashed his way out of the office.
(Crazy#78) - Some guy with a cigar gave Harold a kiss on the cheek, and he Hulked out and punched the man in the chin.
Comments: Created by Jim Owlsley and Marie Severin
While Harold was shown in the first strips, Baby Hulk did not actually appear on panel until the 4th strip, in Crazy Magazine#78. Apparently there was a "Draw the Baby Hulk" contest (anyone know when that was first mentioned?), and the editors (presumably Owsley and Hama, and perhaps Severin) decided that the best one was the one sent by Buck Berryhill (see image on the left) of Little Rock, Arkansas. As a prize, Buck (or his counterpart in Teen Hulk's reality) was featured in that issue's episode of Teen Hulk.
There's pretty much nothing to suggest which reality Baby Hulk might have been native to, but for now, I'd place him with another Crazy character, Teen Hulk, Reality-80360
