seem that much taller than the 5'5" Lorelei)
Weight: Unrevealed; approximately 475 lbs.
Eyes: Dark, presumably brown
Hair: Brown
History:
(Thor I#383 (fb) - BTS) - Having heard of the "matchless beauty" of the lady Lorelei, Daillus decided to find her castle to see for himself if the poets did her justice. Armed and ready, he spent forty days and nights traveling across the wastelands to reach her fortress.
(Thor I#383) - Having finally reached the castle of Lorelei, Daillus battled and easily defeated its monstrous Guardian, throwing him off the drawbridge. He then used a grappling hook to scale the outer wall and fended off some harpies with his sword. Having finally entered the castle, he found Lorelei and was
immediately smitten by her beauty, offering to worship her for all eternity before kissing her. Sadly for him, the kiss turned him to stone, much to Lorelei's amusement. Shortly
thereafter, Lorelei's sister, Amora the Enchantress, appeared and tried to convince her to stop toying with
her suitors, because by doing so she could never find someone who would make her truly happy. After Amora's departure, Lorelei appeared to briefly consider her words and contemplated Daillus' statue, before scoffing at her sister's advice.
Comments: Created by Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz
Considering his alias "the Daring", Daillus presumably had a reputation for taking risks and triumphing over unfavorable odds. He appeared to be a particularly brave and skilled warrior, more than the average Asgardian.
Daillus never appeared again. It's unrevealed if the stone enchantment could be broken by Lorelei or others gifted with considerable mystic powers (Odin, Loki etc) or not. It might be a coincidence, but the whole situation is reminiscent of what the Enchantress did to the Black Knight back in Defenders #4, and he did eventually come back to life, so there is still hope for Daillus after all.
This story is set before Thor I#377. Lorelei had apparently overcome the love spell tying her to Loki.
