History:
(Avengers Forever I#12) - Spider-Man 2099 was pulled from his native
reality to participate in the Destiny War, fighting on the side of
Earth-616's Rick Jones and his group of time-displaced Avengers and
battling an army other extradimensional and time-displaced Avengers,
who were serving the Time-Keepers.
(Spider-Man
2099 II#5) - As Morlun of Earth-001 arrived on Earth-98120,
Spider-Man 2099 confided in his fellow Avengers Captain America,
Captain Marvel and Wolverine that he felt as if he were being stalked
somehow. The other Avengers tried to ease Spider-Man's worries but the
Avengers internal alarm soon sounded, prompting Captain Marvel to
exclaim that perhaps Spider-Man was on target after all. Morlun soon
entered the Avengers headquarters with a large explosion and Captain
America quickly ordered the Avengers to take him down. After knocking
Wolverine aside and injuring Captain Marvel, Morlun announced that
Spider-Man was his main feast then grabbed Spider-Man and fed on him.
Spider-Man of Earth-98120's death was felt by Earth-928's Spider-Man 2099,
who thought to himself that it felt like someone had driven an ice pick
through his skull. Leaving Earth-98120's Spider-Man a lifeless husk,
Morlun thanked Spider-Man for his contribution before noticing that the
Spider-Man 2099 of Earth-6375 was observing the battle. As Spider-Man
2099 of Earth-98120's corpse lay on the ground, Earth-6375's Spider-Man
2099 ended his observation of Earth-98120 and the Avengers prepared to
rally themselves for another attack on Morlun. Morlun quickly departed
Earth-98120 before the Avengers could mount an attack, leaving Captain
America to comment on how part of him agreed with Wolverine that they
would likely never locate Morlun again and how the other part of him
was glad Morlun was gone.
Comments: Created by Kurt Busiek, Roger Stern, Carlos Pacheco and Jesus Merino.
Since Spider-Man 2099 met several extradimensional and time-displaced Avengers during the Destiny War, it is nearly impossible to determine which were friend, which were foe and what reality they originated from in the 2-page spread in which Spider-Man 2099 first appeared. Therefore, I chose not to list those characters individually in his affiliations or enemies.
Spider-Man 2099's height/weight/eyes/hair are taken
from the Handbook entry of his Earth-928 counterpart as presumably, he
shared similar physical characteristics with his counterpart. It's also
possible that this Spider-Man 2099/Miguel O'Hara could have looked
different under his mask. The readers may never know as he appeared and
died without his face ever being shown.
