History:
(Ghost Rider VI#8 (fb) - BTS) - When Cameron's father, police officer
Pete Fillardi, died, Pete's partner Harry O'Connor swore to look after
Cameron. As a teenager, Cameron got into trouble when he tried to force
himself on a girl named Monica Brezzi, ultimately prompting Monica and
her family to move away. It was later revealed that Monica wasn't so
innocent herself.
(Ghost Rider VI#8) - Nearly a year later, after
taking Emily Stouffer out on a date, Cameron was thanked for the fun
time, prompting Cameron to comment that they could have a lot more fun.
Emily asked what Cameron meant, only to then notice that Cameron had
drove past the turn to her house. Cameron then menacingly told Emily
that she wasn't going home yet and claimed that he wanted to show her
something. Emily weakly tried to tell Cameron that she needed to get
home but Cameron replied that he was going to tell everyone at school
that they had sex anyway and attempted to convince Emily to comply as
he got out of his car. Emily told Cameron no and locked herself inside
Cameron's car, prompting Cameron to get angry and attempt to break into
his own car to get to Emily. Cameron was then surprised by an unseen
assailant and Emily yelled that Cameron was scaring her. She then
announced that she just wanted to go home and that she was calling her
father. Emily then asked if Cameron had heard her, only to be met with
a splatter of blood across the car windshield. Unsure of what was going
on, Emily opened the door to see if Cameron was ok and found his
decapitated corpse laying on the ground outside the car. Investigating
Cameron's death, Capt. Harry O'Connor (now the Sleepy Hollow, Illinois
sheriff) spoke with Cameron's mother and had a conversation that was
very hard on Cameron's mother. Later, Capt. O'Connor visited Emily in
the hospital and explained to her about Cameron's history of forcing
himself on girls. He further told Emily that it was perfectly ok to
defend herself if Cameron had forced himself on her. Emily explained
that Cameron was not killed in self-defense and Harry asked her to
explain what exactly had happened. Emily told Harry that she had only
seen a flash of light and a strange sound but didn't know anything else
about how Cameron was killed. As he left the hospital, Harry O'Connor
phoned District Attorney Ken Greer and informed him of what Emily had
said, insisting that they now leave Emily alone. Concerned, Greer asked
Harry if he was covering for Cameron but Harry replied that, as long as
Ken had known him, he would pretend Ken had not said that.
(Ghost Rider VI#11 (fb) - BTS) - Cameron Fillardi was
resurrected by Lucifer (possessing the body of the deceased Jack
O'Lantern/Steve Levins) as part of Lucifer's undead army. Upon his
resurrection, his head was sewn back onto his body.
(Ghost Rider VI#11) - The zombie Cameron was sent against Capt. Harry O'Connor and the demonic hero Ghost Rider when they set a trap to destroy Jack O'Lantern. While Ghost Rider confronted Jack O'Lantern outside, Harry was shocked to see the zombie Cameron inside the house that he had holed up in. Taking advantage of Harry's shock, Cameron attacked O'Connor, who knocked Cameron up against a refrigerator. Attempting to convince himself that the zombie was not truly Cameron but rather merely a piece of dead meat, Harry brandished a cooking fork and warned Cameron that he didn't want to stab him. Forced to stab Cameron in the back, Harry was easily swatted aside when Cameron was unaffected by the stab wound. Cameron then went for Harry's throat but Harry managed to knock Cameron back. Realizing that Cameron was never truly a good kid, Harry announced that if Cameron had not gotten himself killed, he likely would have ended up killing someone himself. Harry then kicked Cameron back against the refrigerator, which fell over, crushing the zombie Cameron underneath. Despite knowing how Cameron truly was, Harry apologized before Jack O'Lantern confronted him. Harry managed to stall Jack O'Lantern long enough for Ghost Rider to return and spring the trap for Jack O'Lantern, destroying the house in a massive explosion and presumably destroying Cameron's corpse.
