History:
(Avengers
I#102) – From aboard the Starcore One sunwatch
station in space, astronauts Alexander Hilary and the Russian Dmitri
noticed
readings of a large moving mass passing dangerously close to the Sun.
Thinking
it could be instrument error, as they had reported in past instances of
such
readings, Dmitri and Hilary looked at the Visi-Scanner and actually
briefly saw
a large moving mass of unidentifiable objects. Unsure of what they had
seen,
Dmitri and Hilary decided to report their findings since the mass
seemed to be
on a direct course towards Earth but they were unsure of what exactly
the mass
was.
(X-Men
I#99) – Still aboard
Starcore One, Colonel Kutuzov reported to Hilary solar flare readings
that were
going off the chart. Hilary ordered Kutuzov to re-calibrate the
instruments
then asked Dmitri what was taking so long with his solar flare
forecasting..
(X-Men:
The Return novel) – Alexander
Hilary and Starcore One crew member Talia Kruma interrupted an argument
between
Col. Kutuzov and Dr. Stephen Beckley with news that an alien ship had
emerged
from behind the Sun and was on a direct course to Earth.
Comments: Created by Roy Thomas, Chris Claremont, Rich Buckler and Joe Sinnott.
Annoyingly,
Hilary's name is spelled two different ways: Hillary (two "l"s) in
Avengers, then Hilary (one "l") in the X-Men issue.
Hilary’s
first name was revealed
in X-Men: The Return, a novel published in 2007.
Profile
