LADY KILLERS
Purpose: Assassins
Aliases: None
Affiliations: Blok, Major, Mister X
Enemies: Wolverine (James "Logan" Howlett)
Base of Operations: Unrevealed, possibly New York City
formerly Mr. X's private island
First Appearance: Wolverine II#159 (February, 2001)
History:
(Wolverine II#159 (fb) - BTS) - A and her partner T were two of the world's finest assassins who were working for Mister X. Along with X's other assassins they were constantly helping him look for worthy challengers by attacking them to see if they would be worthy to fight Mister X.
(Wolverine II#159 (fb) - BTS) - T & A caused trouble at a local, well known night club. Its owners decided to press charges on multiple assaults.
(Wolverine II#159) - T & A decided to go clubbing and went to the same club they'd previously had made some trouble at. When the bouncer refused to let them enter they decided to beat him to a pulp. A kneed him in the groin, which let him open for T's attack. While T assaulted the bouncer, A received a phone call informing them of their newest mission: testing a man called Wolverine (Wolverine had already defeated Mister X's first wave of military men lead by the Major). Sometime later, T & A met up with Mister X's bodyguard Blok and attacked Wolverine who was about to kill the Major.
(Wolverine II#160) - T & A, accompanied by Blok, attacked Wolverine who was surprised to learn how deadly the girls actually were. They severely wounded the feral hero who kept recovering and healing after every supposedly fatal punch and kick. During the fight, T & A decided Wolverine would be a worthy opponent for Mister X, they left him the invitation before disappearing from the scene. That same evening Wolverine went to the designated location to meet with Mister X. T & A were present and witnessed how their employer attacked and beat his opponent.
(Wolverine II#161 (fb) - BTS) - After Wolverine's defeat, the group relocated to one of Mister X's island getaways where Wolverine was placed in a special metal chair preventing him to break free. The scene reminded A of the movie Pulp Fiction, especially when a ball gag was placed in Logan's mouth.
(Wolverine II#161) - After Wolverine woke up Mister X ordered A to take out the ball gag. When she did, Logan bit her on the hand. Outraged by his audacity, she pulled her gun and shoved it down his throat, figuring the bullet would penetrate and smash his brains. Mister X ordered A to stop before taking Wolverine to his trophy room where he gave the hero a tour, revealing his entire life's story along the way. Wolverine managed to escape his confinement and attacked X. But right before Wolverine could stab Mister X to death he was grabbed by Blok who pummeled him into unconsciousness. When Wolverine woke up he was off island in a boat with a note attached to him. Feeling Blok's intervention was foul play he decided to postpone the fight for another time.

Wolverine called T & A the Stephen King version of Betty and Veronica. T & A, obviously, is short for Tits and Ass. The girls' respective costumes were designed to emphasize their codename's particular assets.
A's weapon of choice seemed to change panel by panel. She was first seen holding a whip, then a pair of sais which by the time she threw them had turned into daggers. Maybe she just couldn't pick one, or maybe the artist was forgetful. Either way, it was a bit of a mess to be fair. Months later, Wolverine an Mister X had their rematch, but T & A have never been seen since.
In this specific case, I'd say something like T & A are obviously short
for slang terms for breasts and buttocks.
