Powers/Abilities: Physique's skin, and some of her musculature, is entirely transparent. She is a skilled medical doctor, specializing in superhuman medicine.
History: (Avengers: The Initiative Special#1/2) - At some point, a doctor's "worst fear" came true, rendering her some of her flesh translucent and giving her an unnerving appearance. She took the alias "Physique".
(Avengers: The Initiative#12 - BTS) - After the deranged clone KIA assaulted Camp Hammond, the Initiative hired Physique, a doctor who specialized in superhuman medicine.
(Avengers: The Initiative#12) - Physique treated a number of the wounded, including Constrictor, who received bionic arms; Crusader, whose hand needed to be reattached; and Baron von Blitzschlag, whose injuries had confined him to a wheelchair. While she was examining Crusader's hand, Nighthawk came in to present the injured with Purple Hearts, but was momentarily shocked by Physique's appearance. She reassured Nighthawk that he'd reacted much better than most people did when they saw her. Although Crusader's hand seemed to be healing well, she insisted on doing a full-body scan; to avoid betraying his Skrull nature, Crusader used his reality-altering Freedom Ring to make himself human on a molecular level.
(Avengers: The Initiative#16) - When an invading force of Skrulls shut down all of Tony Stark's tecnhology worldwide, Camp Hammond went dark. Physique and camp counselor Trauma rushed to the darkened infirmary, where they found Blitzschlag keeping War Machine alive with his electrical powers. They rushed topside to find Initiative director Yellowjacket (really a Skrull imposter). Suddenly, War Machine got an automated message from Iron Man that nobody else could hear, prompting him to leave, and prompting Trauma and Physique to make Star Wars references (which Blitzschlag didn't get). War Machine left, leaving Yellowjacket in charge; he ordered Physique, Trauma, and Blitzschlag to get back to the infirmary and prepare for incoming wounded.
(Avengers: The Initiative#17) - Blitzschlag, having expended too much energy on Rhodes, began to weaken, and Physique suggested recharging him with the emergency generators. Just then, Trauma was summoned to join the Shadow Initiative; Physique told him to go, and tended to Blitzschlag herself.
(Avengers: The Initiative#20) - After the Skrulls were defeated, Physique attended an Initiative staff meeting, where the remaining Camp Hammond staff tried to figure out who was in charge, now that Yellowjacket had been exposed as a Skrull, War Machine had disappeared, and Henry Gyrich had resigned.
(Avemgers: The Initiative Special#1/2) - Physique had a therapy session with Trauma on his birthday, where he explained his origins to her, and told her that he thought he'd always be alone. After listening, she insisted that she, for one, wouldn't leave him alone, as her worst fear had already come true. She joined him in the cafeteria for some cake.
(Avengers: The Initiative Featuring Reptil#1) - Physique examined new Initiative recruit Reptil after he was concussed in battle with Stegron. Commission on Superhuman Activities director Valerie Cooper pressed her to see if his dinosaur-detecting abilities would be inhibited.
(Avengers: The Initiative#27 - BTS) - When Norman Osborn took over the Initiative and Camp Hammond was destroyed, Physique relocated to Camp HAMMER, in Nevada.
(Avengers: The Initiative#27) - Physique treated the Shadow Initiative's Doctor Sax after his friend Johnny Guitar blasted his hands. She told him that, with his hands damaged, he was unable to serve.
(Avengers: The Initiative#29) - Trauma asked Physique to cover for him while he took a nap; she voiced her concern about his constant sleeping, suspecting that he was depressed, but he insisted he was fine.
Comments: Created by Dan Slott, Christos Gage, and Steve Uy.
We don't know what became of Physique after the Initiative was largely dissolved, or how she was mutated in the first place.
Phsyique is probably a visual reference to those old Visible Man and Visible Woman model kits.
Profile by Minor Irritant.
