History:
(Fantastic Four III#23 (fb) – BTS)
– The Red Skull and Mad Thinker used mind-altering nanites to convert
civilians to their cause as agents of S.K.U.L.L.
(Fantastic Four III#23 (fb)) – Having tracked the source of
mind-altering nanites to San Diego, Human Torch and Caledonia took
Franklin Richards to the San Diego Comic Con while Mr. Fantastic,
Puppy, Marvel Girl and Invisible Woman investigated the nanites' source
at an industrial plant nearby. At the Comic Con, S.K.U.L.L. agents
released the Awesome Android and infected the special guest
Avengers with the nanites, causing them to go on a rampage through the
convention. Mr. Fantastic, Marvel Girl and Invisible Woman soon after
teleported into the convention, releasing an electromagnetic pulse
designed to disable the nanites, freeing the heroes from the nanites'
influence. Invisible Woman then launched the Awesome Android out into
the ocean, where the heroes found the warship housing the Red Skull and
the
Mad Thinker. The two villains held off the Fantastic Four and their
allies long enough to escape when their warship transformed into a
heli-carrier.
(Fantastic Four III#23 (fb) - BTS) – The Fantastic Four managed to
neutralize the nanites in all those infected, including those who had
been forced to serve as agents of S.K.U.L.L.
