History: (Spider-Island: I Love New York City I#1/4 (fb) - BTS) - At an unrevealed point in time and through unrevealed ways, a common New York City housecat became his reality's Spider-Totem. Somehow creating a costume, he began fighting crime in the city.
(Spider-Island: I Love New York City#1/4) - While taking a nap in his owners' apartment, Spider-Cat dreamed about fighting Venom Pigeon. Battling the symbiote cost him eight of his nine lives. With only one life left, the pigeon was defeated. Sadly a hundred other symbiote pigeons were ready to strike at Spider-Cat, prompting to wake him up from his dream. Fully awake, Spider-Cat slipped out of the apartment in his costume to fight crime.
(Amazing Spider-Man III#7/2) - Bora and Brix, two beings called the Inheritors, who were out to massacre and feed on Spider-Totems throughout the multiverse, traveled to Earth-999 to find the local Spider-Totem. The competitive twins each searched for Spider-Cat on their own. Bora was the first to capture the feline and proceeded to consume its essence while the spiteful Brix watched and hoped she'd choke on it. The death of Spider-Cat was witnessed by Billy Braddock, Spider-UK of Earth-833, using the Captain Britain Corps omniversal monitoring equipment. Braddock was horrified by the Inheritors' cruelty and resolved to stop them.
Comments: Created by Skottie Young (writer), Dave Guertin and Greg Baldwin (pencils, inks).
Earth-999 has previously been mentioned in Nextwave#9 (December, 2006). It was supposedly the home of the Special Legion of Machine Avengers Executive. This reality, however, is generally inhabited by humans so not all superheroes from this planet will be cats and this reality might even have its own version of Peter Parker as well.
