History:
(Avengers: The Initiative#14 (fb) - BTS) - With the implementation of the Superhuman Registration Act and the launch of the Fifty State Initiative, the Hawaiian heroine Star Sign registered herself with the United States government. After completing basic training at the Initiative's headquarters at Camp Hammond, Hank Pym (actually the Skrull impostor Criti Noll) assigned her to join the Point Men, a team of superheroes assembled to protect the island state of Hawaii from any and all threats from the east. Star Sign, along with team members Devil-Slayer, Magnitude (secretly a Skrull as well) and the particle telekinetic Paydirt were headquartered at Lookout Point, an artificial island based on the designs of the original Hydrobase.
(Avengers: The Initiative#14 ) - Star Sign and Paydirt were at the airport to welcome the Point Men's newly appointed leader 3-D Man (Delroy Garret, formerly known as the Avenger Triathlon). As his plane landed, Star Sign told Paydirt she was sure Garret was a Leo, since they're known to be natural leaders. When 3-D Man came down the step ladder, Star Sign welcomed him with the traditional Hawaiian "Aloha" greeting, and planted a kiss on his cheek while putting on the even more traditional flower lei around his neck. Feeling properly welcomed, 3-D Man was a little apprehensive to see Paydirt use his powers to pick up his bags, which Star Sign noticed because 3-D's aura turned yellow. She assured him that her teammate's control over particle (dust) matter was so precise, his bags would be even cleaner as soon as he put them down. After arriving at Lookout Point, she introduced 3-D Man to Devil-Slayer and called in their last remaining teammate Magnitude who was training in the gym. When he joined the party, 3-D Man's Skrull detecting goggles immediately saw through the alien's disguise, causing Magnitude to drop the act and attack the Point Men, knocking out Paydirt with his first blast. Confused, Star Sign begged the newly revealed Skrull to stop, appealing to the fact they were once teammates. She then tried to send a distress call using her light powers but the Skrull unleashed an electromagnetic pulse that fried both the Lookout Point's machinery as well as Star Sign's brain. She fell to the floor, badly injured by the pulse. Eventually, 3-D Man and Devil-Slayer managed to kill the Skrull formerly known as Magnitude. Devil-Slayer then checked on Star Sign and Paydirt. Relieved to find they were still alive, he stored them within the dimensional folds of his Shadow Cloak. After teleporting the 3-D Man to the Initiative's headquarters at Camp Hammond to inform them of the Skrull infiltrator, Payne made sure the two young heroes got to a hospital for treatment.
(Fear Itself: Youth In Revolt#1 - BTS) - At some point, Star Sign recovered from her injuries and resumed her duties as a member of the Fifty State Initiative.
(Fear Itself: Youth In Revolt#1) - When Steve Rogers
ordered Prodigy (Ritchie Gilmore) to head a new Initiative following the
crisis involving Sin and the Hammer Wielders, Star Sign was one of the
many Initiative members who responded to his call to arms. She attended
Prodigy's rally in Washington D.C. along with dozens of other recruits
and received her marching orders: Keep mankind safe during this latest
fight between good and evil.

There was never an on panel explanation about Star Sign's
powers. It's always fun to speculate about her powerset, though. For my
money, the little red star tattoo on her face grants her abilities that
correspond with the different zodiac signs. That would, potentially,
give her at least 12 different superpowers. More if the signs of the
people she's around determine what abilities she has access to, apart
from the single power of her own sign which she can wield
indefinitely. It's a shame we haven't seen more of Star Sign and
the other members of the Point Men. They seem like a diverse bunch of
characters.
