History:
(Avengers I#86 (fb) - BTS) - The past of Mr. and Mrs. Sutton is largely unrevealed, but at some point in the past, they were exposed to excessive radiation. Eventually, Mrs. Sutton became pregnant with their son.

(Avengers I#86 (fb)) - In the hospital, the Suttons were delighted by the birth of their child, but the doctor was concerned: although the infant Arnold seemed normal and extremely healthy--despite his parents' exposure to so much radiation--the doctor couldn't help but feel that there was something unearthly about the newborn baby.

   Almost a year after their son's birth, Harold Sutton and his wife were amused to see little Arnold looking through some books far beyond his apparent level of comprehension, and they commented how their baby couldn't possibly be reading the books--they were unaware that Arnold's brain had been mutated by the radiation, giving him superhuman intelligence.
