History: (Marvel Tales I#116 (fb) - BTS) - An unidentified man afflicted with lycanthropy moved into a new neighborhood

(Marvel Tales I#116) - Hurriedly trying to head home before the moon rose, the man was intercepted by woman who seemed determined to make his acquaintance. Ignoring his repeated requests to let him go and warnings that it was getting late, she offered to tell him about the neighborhood, insisting there would be things he wanted from time to time and that she, with her strong neighborhood knowledge, was just the person to help him. Apparently too polite to just take his leave, the man was delayed too long, transformed into his lupine self, and attacked her.

Comments: Created by Joe Maneely.

Though there was a story titled Werewolf by Night inside Marvel Tales #116, the character chronicled here only appeared on the cover, and is definitely not Mr. Lascher, the Werewolf featured within the issue. However, since the cover was split into three panels, I felt that this cover character did count as having appeared in a story, albeit a very short one, and thus was eligible for being covered on the Appendix.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Mr. Lascher, Werewolf by Night, has no known connections to

Pushy neighborhood woman

An unidentified woman who believed she knew everything about her neighborhood, she tried to push her help on the new smart-suited man who had newly moved into the area, ignoring him when he said he couldn't stop until he transformed into a werewolf and attacked her.

Comments: I know she only appeared in three panels, but I have to wonder about her motivation for stopping the newcomer. Was she simply a local busybody trying to learn more about her new neighbor? Was her "you'll be wanting things from time to time, and I know all about everything around here!" a subtle way of hinting that she had access to black market goods inaccessible legally, revealing that her pleasant looking demeanor hid a scheming criminal mastermind? Or was she really hitting on the guy, trying to get to know him so he might ask her out? If the last, well HAH! to you lady! This is the 1950s, when men do the asking out, not women, and that kind of hussy behavior will get you eaten by werewolves every time!
