History:
(X-Men Unlimited II#11/2 (fb) - BTS) - Arty was hired to work as a groundskeeper at the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters in Salem Center.
(X-Men Unlimited II#11/2) - Arty was out in the woods having his lunch when he ran into young Roberto Da Costa. He was having a bit of a crisis after making a bet with his fellow New Mutant Sam Guthrie about daring to invite a girl called Cheryl to a party, When she turned him down, Roberto began to doubt if he was even able to talk to women at all. Arty, having had multiple divorces, offered to give him some advice. Arty explained he'd failed because he had lost control of the situation and had to really impress her. Not sure how to do this, Roberto asked what he needed to do. Arty continued girls loved fast cars and smooth talkers, at least that's what all his ex-wives liked. Thanking the groundskeeper Roberto went and prepared for his second try in the danger room after which he once again failed to get a date with Cheryl.

Arty sure gave Roberto the wrong advice when it comes to asking women out on a date. In the end Cheryl just wasn't into Roberto but rather liked Sam Guthrie. The cover of X-Men Unlimited II#11 revealed the story was a New Mutants flashback story.
