History:
(Spidey Super Stories#30/4 (fb)) - As a child, Edwin
was fascinated with tow-trucks and received a toy tow-truck as a child,
towing away the Christmas tree. As an adult, he was a driver for a
tow-truck firm, but his over-enthusiasm in towing and lack of judgment
(towing a fire truck) brought about his dismissal.
(Spidey Super Stories#30/4 (fb) - BTS) - Angry, he
developed a flying, jet-powered "super tow-truck" with assorted gadgets
and hooks to help tow vehicles. He dubbed himself the Big Tow.
(Spidey
Super Stories#30/4) - Continuing his towing obsession, Edwin towed Easy
Reader's Book-Mobile with his super tow-truck. The helpful Spider-Man
tried to stop Big Tow, but he and Easy Reader were snared in Big Tow's
missile tow cable and lifted into the air, then abandoned. Big Tow
continued to a baseball park and collected all the cars in one long
train hauled in the air by his jet tow-truck. Having saved themselves
with Spidey's web-parachute, Spider-Man and Easy Reader managed to land
on the car train and ran forward to the front at the tow-truck. Easy
Reader collared the criminal, then Spider-Man wrapped Big Tow in
webbing once they'd landed. Later, Big Tow reformed and helped
distribute books to children on a self-pulled cart.
