History:
(Ghost Rider VI#9) - While Marcus' father slept off a double shift at
work, Donnie and Marcus snuck out of their house after Sleepy Hollow,
Illinois' curfew. While Donnie had concerns that Marcus' father would
find out, Marcus assured him that his father would remain sleeping as
they ventured onto a single lane bridge. When they saw a light at the
end of the bridge, Donnie ran scared, exclaiming that he did not want
to be caught after curfew. Marcus quickly pointed out that the light
was not a cop car and since there was only one, it must be a
motorcycle. Unfortunately, they both soon learned that it was the
flying head of Jack O'Lantern, whose corpse was possessed by the demon
Lucifer. As the pumpkin-shaped helmet neared the two boys, Marcus
yelled for Donnie to jump from the bridge and Marcus did so, soon
emerging in the water and frantically trying to find Donnie. Upon
seeing Donnie's hand, Marcus grabbed it and pulled Donnie to the nearby
shore, where Marcus was horrified to find that Donnie had been
decapitated. Lucifer/Jack O'Lantern then confronted Marcus and offered
to let Marcus live at the cost of his own soul. Before Marcus could
shake on Lucifer's deal, Ghost Rider appeared and pulled Lucifer away
from Marcus with his chains. Lucifer's head fell onto the ground,
promising that he and Marcus would talk again soon.
Comments: Created by Daniel Way, Javier Saltares and Mark Texeira.
Interestingly enough, when Lucifer/Jack O'Lantern resurrected several of his victims as zombie slaves, the resurrected Cameron Fillardi was mistakenly (so it seemed) drawn to resemble Donnie with the same shirt and jeans and everything.
